Shit happens. It was still only 1 game though which seemed to tip him over the edge, which is questionable. Seems like one of those cases where someone spends hours on a gameplan only to lose, and then they sell their team out of frustration. Whatever though it's his money and his team. I still think it is the wrong move to sell after 3 games. Especially when it would take him no additional flex, time, or money to run the team for the rest of the season.

Shit does happen...game in and game out. The sim is just becoming not worth the time to plan for. And to say that it would take him no additional time is delusional at best. The best case scenario for him was to sell and quit the game. I only sometimes wish I could walk away. Hopefully this game becomes worth it again someday.

I meant it would take him no additional flex, time, or money to just keep his team the rest of the season. He didn't have to gameplan, but I mean he has nothing to lose by keeping the team throughout the season. Yet he sells it early and the league suffers. Whatever though, what's done is done.

Remember just a few seasons ago when there was 5-6 gutted teams in each conference, 1 free game isn't the end of the world

RJ was a close and valuable ally to many agents and teams. He was selfless and intense in his desire to make glb better!

So anyone lame enough to think otherwise does not or did not know the same person I knew!

It is a Sad, Sad day when he steps up and makes a stand ("puts his money where his mouth is") and it is turned into a flamewar by people who talk about things of which they know nothing.

The real irony is that we all lose when people like RJ give up on GLB.

He has valid points...

A) The sim is Screwed up
B) Management does not seem to give a shit

RJ's honor was challenged and he did what he considered to be the action that spoke louder than words.

I differ with his course of action, only in, that I think it was more drastic than I am willing to make and may be a folly of youth.
Age brings patience and lowered expectations. I settle for less than perfect and I am willing to accept that this game flawed and I will give it a chance to be rectified.

But the Truth about this game is somewhat undefined, and left to the obvious point of whether anyone other then agents on this sim, learn from the mistakes of the sim, and whether management is willing to address the problems with actual solutions!

Just my two cents
Steve

sometimes a point has to be made to get the attention of management. I dunno, if I were running a lame duck team would I want to leave my agents out to deal with that?

Not really.

Shit.

I honestly enjoyed reading rj's posts, and always thought he was good for the game, and Spicewood was a team I enjoyed watching/getting smacked around by in the Silverymoon days.

It sucks to lose one of the few, rational/clear/intellectually honest posters GLB has.

And the slow exodus continues.

One by one we're loosing the best agents in the game. Sure, it sucks to loose a competitive team and throw off the balance in the league but I'm over that already. What really saddens me is when dedicated people like rj and pierre get so fed up with with trying to help that they just quit. Who's next? Hazy... teritchone... islander1.... r8? I wouldn't blame any of them. I don't fault Hazy, or any particular mod for that matter, for not being able to satisfy agents requests/concerns and see that at least a reasonable percentage of constructive ideas are carried out. The information is obviously passed along, it's painfully apparent Bort doesn't give a god damn what his customer base wants and thinks the game needs to survive. Does Bort even know who his most valuable/respected/knowledgeable users are? How fucking disconnected is he really?

Bort, you're loosing your shit man.

Edit: I've never been a "Bort basher", and I'm not going to start now. This is my last "WTF BORT?" post but I'm done spending money on this sim from this point forward.

Sorry to see RJ go as he's a good guy no doubt. I hope he quite for the right reasons, but regardless as long as he's happy with his decision it doesn't matter.

If any spicewood players can't find a good home (unlikely) feel free to give me a PM, though I wish you all the best of luck.

I was really hoping that my team would be able to make it to Pro soon and get another shot at competing with Spicewood.

Sorry to see you go, RJ, but I can't blame you. I'll miss our short-lived rivalry.
