you act like what i'm saying is way off. what's the roster cap in the nfl? is it 80? dont be stupid when you post, please

i'm sure this season wont have any new rules or limitations to it, and tbh i dont care what the scores and score recaps look like. but next season you're gonna be faced with these limitations. you'll have to have smaller rosters at some point, and gee, everything i'm saying right now will apply then

my only point was to do it NOW and not next season
so any of you criticizing my thinking process and my statements about roster cap are slightly off. it's gonna happen. you'll have to deal with it at some point

Yes, exactly. It's 85. And the team "abusing" Special Teams atm, the SD Lightning, has 72 players on it's roster. So, again, tell me. What's the problem exactly?

I don't think anyone will have problems with a roster cap next season, especially if it is announced before free agency starts. I think most teams will have a problem cutting a lot of their players right now in the middle of the season though.

what exactly are you trying to call me out on cbtd?
i'm not catching it
i do catch that you're a moron, but i'm not understanding what you're flaming me about...

the -training camp- limit is in the 80s, you cant dress -80 spots- going into week two, dumbass
nfl cap is in the 50s. guess what? that's way under 72... not sure if you can tell that or not

After every game up until today, I had pmed them and said GG, and, W or L, always sincerely meant it...I couldn't say GG today. On their side, it was one massive outside play to their HBs after another. On our side, we FFum them. I was flat out embarrassed with how we won. Ironically, if I'd been the owner of the Shockers and the Shockers had won instead, I would have been every bit as embarrassed by winning on so many big screens, pitches and sweeps. I know this sounds cheesy, but I was flat out embarrassed of both of our games, and neither of us did anything in the least little bit wrong.

Edit: BTW, we only got 1 FFum on returns. The other 5 were against their O. So, it wasn't a dedicated special teams issue either way....And they also got a pick 6 on when our QB threw the ball away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell is that?!

We figured you out man. You snuck a spy into our locker room and put Crisco on everyone's gloves. You sumbitch! lol I intend to file a protest w/ the league office so it can officially be ignored.

this is the first post that actually understood my post. thank you

i know it'll raise problems and issues if they implemented it now. and it'll cause a fuss next season when the cap everyone before season 10 as well.
so why not do it now, since teams will fuss either way, and it'll solve a good deal of the issues at hand

give out a new chem grace period, and yet another vet point allocation reset (i'm sure we'll get another one next offseason anyhow)

53 is the limit for a game. And the Lightning would have no problem respecting that either. We have specific units for each ST, we could easily have dominating STs with players playing solely on STs though. Just not midseason.

And by the way, the roster cap isn't the problem. VAs are.

you having depth is great
i have no problem with you hanging 100 on SW, lets get that addressed first. please dont feel like i'm attacking your team in any way, ok? i dont have any complex that i have to defend myself or SW because we lost and i cant understand how we could be inferior. SD having amazing builds and proper understanding of how tactics and schemes work obviously are in place

what i'm saying, is that roster cap will have a trickle down effect
if you cap at 50, what this does is makes players alter their VA's. you can't play only on special teams, and have dozens of players focus solely on special teams SAs. make sense?
while you might have a few, in order to have the same effect that we see now, you'd have to sacrifice something on offense or defense

do you see what i'm saying with roster cap?
i'm not saying that a 70 man roster has an advantage because of depth and energy, i'm saying they can utilize their SAs better because they dont have to sacrifice anything on offense or defense

i wasn't saying any team over the cap is exploiting anything, or bending rules, or taking advantage
in fact it's the opposite. you'd be silly -not- to have depth, and not to plot and gameplan on things that work. last season was strong i and inside runs. this season it'll be special teams
if you're already there, that's a good job on your parts. i'm not criticizing you, SD, or anything else of the like

i'm critical of some of the thought processes that were, or in this instance, that were not in place to start the season

VAs are the single reason for all the craziness, too - remove them and the sim would return to being semi realistic, or would at least be much easier to return to that level. Because of VAs, Bort's usual strategy of pin the nerf on the donkey will never be able to plug all the holes and problems with the sim logic. They introduce a variable he doesnt understand and can't control. You can't introduce that kind of complexity to a game if you're the only programmer, esp. if the game didn't work right in the first place.

this made me laugh uncontrollably for a few seconds.

it was pretty damn good. i too laughed.

the roster size wont address much of a problem at all...you can finagle a teams interior as much as you like, but the VA's will still be around messing up every part of the sim.

if you couldn't play for him 10-15 snaps or more a game, you weren't on his team

if you want to fill up some of the depth on your CAPPED roster with special team players, that'll be your choice. but guess what?
when you have a CAPPED roster you cant just have one area loaded up with special team VAs. it wont be a smart option
all of these exploits are happening because people can load up on STs, because it wont affect the rest of the team

if your roster is capped, you might not want to have a guy on there that is only gonna play 4-5 snaps. his ST VA might be useless to you then

so..... since you lost in today's bortified game, you see nothing wrong with the nearly 1000 yards of offense that y'all put up? you're just gonna bitch & moan about ST's? & you look like a moron saying that football teams don't have dedicated ST players.
