-1.

We can't even get the regular leagues right.

We've already got

D-Leagues
Pee Wee
Casual
Capped Leagues
Regular Leagues

It just wouldn't make sense to add another league dynamic that the sim would have to account for.

As far as I understand the idea, there would be no alterations to the sim at all. The only change would be to the maximum number of players on a roster. I see no harm in doing this.

I FULLY support this idea, and I think that it would not only give a new aspect to this great game, but it would allow for owners to actually have a chance to field a team of their own, or with a close knit group of teammates. Equipment would be more feasible and this would be a great thing for the game as a whole. Thanks Haole!

Still think this should be put back in epic.

I like the idea... but take away OoP penalties. It will be hard enough to create players for both sides of the ball. Seeing as offensive players need things like carry and defensive players need tackle. The OoP penalty would be inherent to the position, like CBs can't stock up on catching SAs (only AEQ). Just like QBs can't stock up on monster hit or Shed Block. OoP penalty would just make teams suck at one or the other of offense or defense.

I think this would add a whole new build strategy to players as well. Like people taking stamina to 70+.

Q: What about the Out Of Position penalty (commonly referred to as OOP)?

There would be no change to the OOP for an Iron Man player. A WR will probably have to play CB on your Iron Man team, for example, and he won't play defense as well as he plays offense.

We consider this part of the strategy for Iron Man football. Is it better to build a WR and play him also as a CB, or build a CB and play him also as a WR? That is the part for you to decide and figure out, and part of the increased challenge that has a big appeal in the 1000+ posts that have already been made about this idea.

The only thing I can truly see as far as builds go. The players will be build for the iron man league only.

I would agree but I think some of that goes on now. Peewee owners build players in ways they normally wouldn't since they know they will just be retired at seasons end. The only difference would be that these players would play multiple seasons.

I think that's part of the appeal. Players could cross over leagues if they wanted -- this wouldn't be a locked league at all, as long as players are leveled under the cap, they would be able to play in either league. But I think that activity will be limited since the player will have to be built for that league.

To the people who still want to remove or diminish the OOP, I would argue that this would make player crossover too easy. If you're building a WR/CB, you can't ignore tackling because the OOP will kill you. If you're building a CB/WR, you can't ignore catching for the same reason.

The OOP will force people to build for the league if they want to be able to play both sides of the ball effectively, and that will make it so that an Iron Man-built player will excel over a specialized player at a much higher degree. Nerfing OOP would just encourage one-sided player building, which takes away a lot of the appeal of this type of league.
