This could be because people who are displeased tend to post more....

Alrighty, I'm sold then. I could handle starting over with the time aspect as I've had fun. Got very solid agents and I'm also trying to look out for their expense as well if we considered restarting a team in its 5th season. Catch 22, I think you've been great on the forums and I see you bridging the gap between admin and agent. Thanks..

I think I will be keeping my S14 O and D linemen. As it is now I can build a DE with 80+ strength, agility and speed to run over the new wimpy pass blocking OTs or run around the slow run blockers.

so that the guys building elusive backs don't have the same ALGs as the Powerbacks, which enables the builder to target their build more effectively than they can now.

And since the ALGs are closer from position to position, dot vs. dot interactions should be easier to balance between different positions as well.

The ones that succeed in the NFL are athletes, not sprinters. I find it especially silly that there are posts within this thread discussing "speed" as a ALG for a lineman.

8 speed (what FBs would have without ALGs), is the equivalent of about a 20 second 40.

I'm sorry, but that's not an athlete, that's handicapped

1) Will specialty depth chart positions be added for ALL players now to help compensate? (CB1-CB5 to match NT1 for example)

2) Will roster size possibly change with the addition of archetypes?

3) Is there any thought of incorporating substitutions into this idea? (when power HB is in, so is strongest NT, LB, SS, FS... or the ability to place a specific CB on a specific WR)

I had more, but lost them while reading other posts.

The number of retirements this off season will almost certainly kill Lvl 14 through 30 teams, as well as the free agent market for those level players for next season.

No problem chefs, thanks for discussing it in a calm and rational manner.

The pass blockers won't be quite as wimpy as you think. I reposted it earlier in the thread, but Octowned did some rough calculations and linemen using this at their peak while being well built along the way would look a bit like 126 strength (with all EQ on this alone), 100 agility, etc.

You could say that for the punter and kicker too--that doesn't mean that a couple of the new 'types won't make things regarding this sim more exaggerated than they already are.

So...................... It'll be less about knowledge of the game. And more about something like www.mybrute.com

That's an excellent idea. My badd.

Only 1 FB and 1 TE archetype have speed as a major ALG. Last time I checked, Vernon Davis was pretty fast. And Leonard Weaver might not have super speed, but he showed some serious wheels this season for the Eagles. As with the NFL, speed is still going to other attributes to get going. But FBs and TEs should have speed as part of their repertoire, because it's important.

Yah I can see some huge problems just with my new season 14 team. I don't know how you could not reroll. With these changes you would completely have to. There really is no choice I can see.

Both (1) and (3) would be horrible for the game. If every run play an entire run blocking offense was put in and so was an entire run blocking defense (along with the same thing happening on passing plays) it would make GLB so so so so bad. I sounds cool, but it would not be cool. Tbh, anything more than the depth chart customization which is currently available (either on offense or defense) would be an absolute game killer....
