Which is a part of why so many people have made a point with their wallets (and purses in some instances like jampy). It's his business to flush down the shitter, I guess.

People have made the point with their wallets because they are bored with the game. Pretty obvious. The people that made that point in the first place are pretty much the people that made them move on to other ventures. Good thinking by those guys.

This is literally the only game I have ever played where people feel the need to spend time chatting with the developer constantly.

You forgot about people like me. There are a number of us that stopped buying flex because we got the sense that Bort's absence meant he no longer gave a shit and that we would be fools to spend anymore money on it. Bort disappeared WAAAAAAAY before 2.0 arrived.

Is it that people are bored with the game, or is it that the game is unsupported with an absentee dev team which has led to user boredom and malaise?

Even you can certainly see the right side of this one.......

I've spent quite a bit here, bhall. I ran through tons of flex and got to a point where I needed to buy more to sustain what I was doing here. Bort's lack of interest in this game led me to simply not have enough confidence in this product to spend more. I'm not the only one that came to the same conclusion.

Nobody ever quit the game until a few months ago!

Also not sure I'd consider paying for servers, paying for support staff, and fixing major issues "unsupported".

And you're talking to the dev team, so as far as "absentee dev team"...

Your turn on this would make sense if

But that isn't the case. The game was well past the point of return far before Bort headed for the hills and this game left beta. Don't get me wrong, I would love something new and interesting in this game. But Bort checking in to say hey isn't going to make this game anything different.

Again, you miss the entire point bhall. I don't think anyone here is asking for him merely to say "hey" at all.

Euchrid has already asked several times what it is you guys want and you have continually gone back to the "we just want to be friends with Bort" schtick.

We all know that is what Dub J wants because he hasn't really played this game since he got here.

Dev team as in development? Are you currently developing anything here?

Are you hoping to gain a completely new user base for upcoming projects? Or might it make sense to gain a real following for your brand by supporting the games that you create? That would require a few major changes I would think......

To your post though point by point.......

1) Paying for servers. We all know the costs there, almost non-existent in the grand scheme. Pointing that out as "support"?

2) Paying for support staff. Also mentioned as "support". I don't have any first-hand knowledge of how your support team functions as of late, but what I can say is that in the past when I've needed support, the answers were long in coming and generally lacking....... with the exception of Ellis Bell. She was awesome, and generally seemed to care....... rumor has it EB is gone now. So you have that going for you...... still not sure if paying for support staff constitutes actual support though, a better metric would be results and a happy user base I would think.

3) Fixing major issues. I just looked at the change log, and the last entry for sim changes was September 13th 2013, and the last change for the website listed was Dec 2012.

Look, I doubt anyone would be as passionate about their bitching if the game wasn't great. It is. But TBH, it could be (or maybe could have been depending on perspective) sooooo much more. It just doesn't make sense to some of us, that since it is a viable business with the proven financial record of substantial gains, why not continue to support it? Because you guys are bored with it? From my perspective, it is the only real viable name you guys have. GLB2 is "meh"....... for me if I had never found GLB1 and stumbled into GLB2, I would have probably done exactly what I did do with GLB2. I tried it for a split second, became bored with the build process and lack of options coaching, and left. Not sure about the app thingy you are hocking in the other forum that I read, so I can't comment on that really.

Leads me back to my question above...... are you hoping to gain a whole new user base for upcoming projects? Because for me at least, it would be very hard for me to throw the kind of money to you that I have here on anything else that you produce, unless I have a certain confidence that it will be good and be supported. 3 years ago, I might have had a different perspective of WG and gladly bought into other games....... just trying to be honest here.

It just seems to me that you are turning your back on the "good" to embrace the mediocre. Which is a head-scratcher TBH.

You are so off base it isn't even funny. Pretty much everyone in this forum can attest that I have never really tried to be Bort's "friend". Please point me to the post where I said anything remotely close to "I just want to be friends with Bort". I'll wait......

You should prb just stop posting....... go drink some koolade or something.

If you're expecting steady dedicated development for games 6+ years after they are released and well past being profitable, then yes, you are going to generally be disappointed.
