Speaking for myself, I have been playing this game long enough that I should know what I'm doing, but in some cases I don't. I spent more time trying to learn my self than ask for help. That was my mistake.
I have learned a lot in the FAQ forum, probably from what you may consider stupid questions. That's okay, help is help, even if it comes from a mean spirited person.
I'm not calling you out Pro Kop. I just want you to consider that right now there may be an agent who has a question but does not want to post it because they don't want someone trying to humiliate them. Maybe I am wrong and you're not doing that, but it does kinda seem you are.
I have only finally learned the proper way to build dots effectively. Now we will have to wait and see if I can build a great dot - with an effective build. I'm sure you have something funny to say about that, so go ahead.
I've owned a few teams and have not done well with them. It took me a long time to figure out the AI, both offense and defense. Again I was learning as I go, not seeking help or advise that I should have. I realize and admit to my mistakes. The AI is incredibly daunting when you don't know what you're doing. Bane did help me out one season and I learned more about the AI in that season than all the other seasons combined. I still failed though, and largely do to a lack of effort on my part. I won't make any excuses for that.
I will purchase a team again in the future, but not until I know I can put in a 100 percent effort, and do it right. I now have a good idea how much work and effort is needed. It is a lot of fun and every agent - even noobs - should give it a try. But I for one won't bag on them when they fail, or ask stupid questions.
We don't all have the knowledge of this game that you have ProfessionalKop. I think Donk3yMan has been helpful and very respectful, while being involved in some heated discussions. I would have understood if he acted with less respect but he didn't. That is the kind of help needed in the FAQ.
i never said anything about guys who dont understand the game. if youre new and/or confused, ask away. a guy who has been playing a lot of dotball for years shouldnt cry about something so ridiculously stupid. having no CPU penalty is just lol. the dude just wants to win easy trophies and now he's upset because he cant do it with CPUs? all he does now is go in a bad silver league and win mvp for a qb every season.
i also post regularly in the FAQs forum and help as much as i can. if i know an answer or have an opinion, i post it. if i dont have an answer, i just dont post in the thread.
when someone who thinks theyre great at this game comes into FAQs and complains that they cant win in league #40 with 90% CPUs, all im going to do is let him know how idiotic the concept of no CPU penalty is. the only time osiris makes a post is when something doesnt go his way.
also, learning from bane is a good idea. Great DC and an even better agent. Good guy to learn from.

We had a 30 or so dot turnover last season right when Final Boss moved up to Pro. I usually wait until day 41 to do a lot of my recruiting, and last season it bit me in the ass because something came up in RL.
Trick Pony is easier to recruit for so I had to merge FSS into my other teams
Did not want to make the players sit through a mediocre season.
at least final boss is killin it.

The team I bought had like 4-5 dots on it when I bought it. I sent offers to most of the FAs and players on CPU teams. I assembled by far the conference's best roster. I am not entitled to win but if I am the only one trying and took the time to load AI and make packages I should at least be somewhat competitive with lesser rosters run by CPU or human owners. Players were excited to play on a human team with an active forum. Giving them a footing in this game was my main goal. When I first started the game if I could only play for CPU owners or human teams that just got throttled I would have lost interest real fast. No one was cheating like some are suggesting. the problem is they signed up to play for the wrong owner. poor guys will probably prefer to play on CPU teams now.
