Wow! Looks like this thread just turned into a gripe session. Come on people! Stay on point here. Don't just get mad, and complain. If you want this thing to keep going, then do something other than complain. Get the word out and or if you are a good at the game play here, mentor some of these people that want to have a better experience, but just haven't grasped the gameplay.

You haven't seen my posts in FAQ, have you?

By the way, I think Corndog's posts in this thread have pretty much proven my point: the admins are done with GLB1, and they're just waiting for it to die down more so they can pull the plug. GLB2 is their baby now.

And that brings up an aspect of morality to what you're asking us to do. Given that the admins are pretty much openly admitting now that the writing is on the wall for GLB1, why should I encourage new users to come in and plunk down money on a game that very well might not be here in the near future? That's dishonest and unethical.

Until Bort and company show at least a little bit of interest in retaining their current userbase, I'm not going to lift a finger to bringing in new users.

Talk about reading between the lines.

I'm giving you a 3 day ban for a bad attitude, right after I modify the reasons for giving a ban.

Honestly, the only "fix" that I've really liked the idea of is just embracing GLB1's hardcoreness.

Rebrand it as GLB: Tactics, have users buy entire teams for like 5,000 flex a season or something, that covers all boosts, CEQ, etc.

Obvious downside is that it prices people out.

If you do this, please consider this http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5048786 again.

GLB looked into getting Greenlit on Steam at all?

There's a truly hideous basketball sim, that got Greenlit on there not too long ago - that isn't half what this game is ... just seems like that would be a path to a hell of an influx of new users ...

My understanding is Steam takes a $100 fee up front, and once you're Greenlit it's a 70% dev / 30% Steam split on revenue ... guess it would depend how optimistic GLB is on how much of a bump that would give ... if that's a tree worth barking up.

The mid level game isn't interesting by any means. People aren't going to intentionally make players for them.

Maybe they should work on making the mid level game more interesting????

By adding more bonus's making attributes matter less and less? Because that is the only thing that is going to change the mid level interest outside of scrapping it all together. Mid levels are partly made builds of a finished product.

i think glb could continue to try and evolve by trying things out and not necessarily having to commit to things forever...

for example i like the idea of being able to build an insta level dot. Yes would i be more inclined to build a 79 and join a WL team? Sure but perhaps I want to help out a buddy who needs a player on his level 32 team and join him from there after a layoff from glb. There could be lots of scenarios that might position my decision one way or another. I think that if you were to provide this option it would be interesting as it can help improve interest and plug holes. I think you could try limiting insta dots to say two per user. You could play around with that limit based on how things shift after the implementation. This is my introduction of a little gray area to what has seemingly been a black and white conversation.

You aren't going to have any buddies to help out at level 32.

havent you been reading bhall? he insists that NO ONE will ever build anything but 79, no matter how many people say that they would build other things. HE wouldnt do it, therefore, no one would ever do it. bhall only believes in things his tiny little mind can grasp.

.........competing against the same.

Meanwhile in the NFL: Rookies will be competing with 7 year vets, rookies are just not worth using as they are an unfinished product

ben you seem like your a smart guy....i can understand why someone makes the argument of why should I help try to promote this game if it appears the owners and managers of the game arent making an effort to do it themselves.

but just providing negativism isnt helpful. i believe there are plenty of opportunities for tweaks and additions into this game that could help improve it. If you are capped at the amount of insta dots you can have I dont see why you would restrict it to only 79s.

My team needed a blocking TE a couple seasons ago. That was around level 50's. I found one blockign TE from a team the gutted. If it handt been him I would be out of luck. With insta dots im sure one of my buddies would have helped me out by making a insta dot to fill in.

I would suggest making the free dots not be insta dot eligible.
