Where do you think they will get 10k new users? I doubt they would grow any more than 10% no matter how many more games they came out with, The way this site grew is through message boards. With facebook and twitter among other things, message boards have pretty much died out to just the regulars. We the members spread the word which spread like wildfire. I just don't see how any game they come out with will top what they had here back 5 years ago.

Largely probably depends on what the new project really is honestly. I personally wish it were some sort of war type atmosphere using some of the aspects of GLB player building (minus the ALG's) added to what many of the war type games already possess. I think that would bring in tons of users as most of those types of games easily bring in lots of users. Though I am relatively sure it is likely a sport of some sort.

For real. I had this idea the other day while I was bored where GLB made a game much like any war game of course. (build your city/town and your castle/lair) But base it off super heroes since that is like the cool thing right now and it would bring in tons of people. You use flex to start with a regular old guy and you build up his attributes and SA's and whatever just like a GLB dot. This guy is your hero and you use your hero to war with other hero's to be the top hero but also there are CPU boss's out there that hold things like cool equipment (this is where % aeq would come from). Now fighting against other hero's would be just like a My Brute fight. But fighting against Boss's or Villains would be much like trying to take over or steal from someones lair/city. (maybe once you defeat the territory a my brute fight with the Villain would be the finish move?)
This is all kinda based off the idea of a game a group of us GLB guys played called Godstoria but with a GLB aspect to the player building and adding more elements to war with.
I dunno...I have a whole thing mapped out that I spent hours making up but that is kinda the simple rundown of it that I fed from Godstoria, Stronghold Kingdoms, and GLB.

The nice thing about games like that is that it could essentially be free to play for those penny pinchers outside of the initial cost of a hero (wouldn't have to be a large cost for a hero. Maybe like 300 flex.) But flex can also be spent on other things like shopping tokens or faster building, or better offense/defense for a certain amount of time...blah blah blah. Those kinda expenses also eat up wallets easily.

Of course the real battle is making the game playable for new people and not largely just making the longest active users gods among simple people.

you think that would attract more people than a sports sim? I know a lot of people joined specifically for the football aspect and not so much the "mmorpg" aspect.

Than baseball, hockey, soccer, or basketball? Absof'nlutely. Have you ever played any of the war type games? They bring in tons of users even though a large problem of the longest active users being untouchable exists.

no I have never played, and I don't think I would. I only played this cause of football

Having those attributes doesn't take anything away from the players. When will D&D take int/wis/cha away from tanks or str/con from casters? Even my FIFA 13 pro has 10 in the goalkeeping attributes. It's not like it puts ALGs into them. As far as major major changes like that, they probably won't happen.

The new games for GLB would revolve around likely the major sports which bring much more than 500 new users most likely. Also it will be 2 new games as baseball is right around the corner from whatever the new game is. If those games brought 10k new users it would be pretty fair to say that a good plenty of them would use a little bit of their flex on GLB football.
No one will spend money on the game if they look at GLB or talk to GLB vets.
