Man-to-man D is where it's at.

They played man and things went well. It's just they had a couple of D plays where too many defenders dropped into zone and it triggered enough to fuck them over.

Ok, after further review I have come to a conclusion:

CPU owners that have CPU players should be exempt from any penalties. Think of it like leveling up in a video game against the computer, the higher in level you go, the harder it is to beat the computer.

Now on the other hand, human owners that have CPU players should most definitely be penalized. I should think the penalty should come in the form of league taxes or league adjustments, maybe CPU penalty. This should increase a certain percentage for each level/league of play. Meaning it would be more costly for a human owner to have CPU players on a team the higher in level it reaches. Penalize them for each CPU player they have on the team, for each day.

Don't think human owners should be rewarded for having androids on their team, this could eventually lead to a mutiny of all human players at the higher levels. No human players at higher levels would ultimately cap the retirement age of most who realize this, or worse, retirement for good.

Subtract 1% for each CPU player from the team chemistry of ANY teams with CPU players, Overall, Offense, and Defense. That should also eliminate any desire to hold onto CPU players and make it more likely that owners would actually look to recruit human players more vigorously.

This is echoed in this thread as well http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4801067&page=2#44316710

Yes, you still have to gameplan against a team of CPU players.

Never have, and never even had a close game. Any team losing to CPU Dots is doing something wrong. Probably a lot of things wrong.

Aren't they already penalized by using a roster spot for a dot whose tactics can't be dictated, as far as I know doesn't wear equipment, as far as I know doesn't use VAs, and who attributes are automatically penalized 10% or so compared to the opposition?

Where does this 10% penalty come from? Show some Catch or Bort quotes or it just isn't true.

I'd say they are doing all the things wrong.

With regard to the 10% (may have been questioned in the other thread), it was mentioned alot in the discussions around the CPU revamp ( see this thread for an example: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4211108 ). Catch mentions a penalty in a Q & A that is in the wiki :

"Catch22 September 12, 2010 Question Are CPU players better now?
Answer CPU players are better now. They represent average builds with EQ and VA's for their archetype. They do receive a penalty to all their attributes and do not apply skill points or VA's over the course of a season. "

I could not find a quote from Bort or Catch specifically saying the penalty is 10%.

Also, io those questioning if the scaling of CPU is based on league average or the game average...beyond providing proof (just look at the results for Devonport...we lost to a team with avg level 51 and beat a team with avg lvl 70), here is a Catch quote:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4294984&page=1#38525524

It is per your opponent in the specific game, not per league.

CPUs are still quite a bit inferior to a good team.

Losing to a CPU team is your sign that you aren't as good as you think you at this game.

GLB is losing money...not mine, but trust me, something needs to be done.

They were dumped 90-16 in their first round game by the 3 seed bro.
