I suppose it will be merged CPL, USAPL and SLAP, OPL

and then EEPL and WEPL, APL, SEAPL together

top 8 teams from each of the two Hemisphere Leagues promote to WL

then the feeder leagues are below that.

So its an additional tier before reaching wL to ensure better competition.

Catch22:
"

Let's face it. It's the only league level that has it's own unique structure and the question is why? The main reason is people want their regional affiliations. I am suggesting that for the good of the game we have to revamp this a bit and make the game about having competitive leagues that make sense. This is a bit of a merger of the Hemispheres suggestion and how the regular minor league structures work. Basically it would work like this:

Western Hemisphere (equivalent to Elite #1)
Eastern Hemisphere (equivalent to Elite #2)

(we can work on the regions that are used here, this is just the general concept being outlined)

Western Hemisphere Feeder leagues
North America
South America
Europe

Eastern Hemisphere Feeder leagues
Oceania
Africa
Asia

Promotion/Demotion

The top 8 teams (winner of first round playoff games) from each Hemisphere would promote to World League. The bottom 16 teams (non playoff teams) from World League would demote to Hemisphere. The bottom 16 teams from each Hemisphere (non playoff teams) would demote back down to Feeder leagues. The losers of first round playoff games from each Hemisphere would be the only teams that would remain. There would be 16 open slots for each Hemisphere. They would be taken by the final four participants in each feeder league and then the next 8 best teams based on current tiebreakers (W-L record first).

The bottom four teams from each conference for each feeder league (total of 48 teams) would demote to Regional Pro. Promoting teams from Regional Pro would take those slots."

the people freaking out about another tier to get to WL are ppl that really have no hope in the current system anyways imo

if you're lucky you have 2 teams in each pro league conf that legitimately have any shot. it's not fun for anyone to have a team (ok ill speak for us) Queensland that does very little in the reg season. we end up losing in the playoffs and now you are stuck with us again. (granted we blew up the roster so this season will be interesting ...)

i'm involved with 3 teams that have very little fun in Pro and struggle to avoid face smashing when they make it out of Pro. i dunno if hemi is the best idea but damn, ya gotta do something.

You describing Queensland or St. John's there, my friend?

If we gameplan at all during the regular season, it's for 2-3 games...and I don't say that disrespectfully to any of the teams here. When the playoffs come around, it's time to try. Last season we upset the Exiles in Round II, but lost out on WL by virtue of a loss to Dallas. It's probably not all bad since a face-smashing would've awaited us if we'd advanced.

I agree, the "Hemispheres" may not be the answer...but quite possibly a step in the right direction.

So if your team can't get to the WL in a simple Pro League, how would you exactly get past a tougher League, by default? Now everyone has a chance to get to WL if you have Hemispheres or PRo Elite.. It shouldn't be that easy to get there..

really?

i'm for a fun competitive league. winning it all and promoting to WL is awesome gravy. none of the top 2-3 teams in each conference in any pro league try much at all in the regular season. ask around. is that the setup that makes the most sense?

Oh, then what am I talking about, duh.. This is obvious and has been said throughout the boards, and there is plenty of competition out their, and agents are looking for it.. In the mean time, make the playoffs and there is 4 solid games.. Add in 3 free scrimmages against anyone really, they are all looking for competition, and there are several competitive tournaments and your talking a whole season of competition.. Now where did I not say competition.. Oh, there does not need to be a restructure for PRO's just yet.. It's not priority.. Now when we start adding plays and/or an offensive play creator it will be fun and lack of competition will be a thing of the past..

This set up now makes perfect sense for NPL/WL, but there needs to be a demotion/promotion change between RPL and NPL, and not WL and NPL.. Just because an RPL Elite team gets into the playoffs, doesn't mean they are good enough for Pro's.. So instead of top 8 RPL Elite, should be maybe top 4 RPL Elite.. That could clear up quite a bit of hostility..
