I don't know about this. What if a team chooses to scrims you on demand an two hours before you are about to play them, and then changes their game plan for the real game?
I don't want to have to keep turning "ready to scrim" on and off when I'm about to play a game. I think you would need to be able to keep a least of teams you aren't willing to scrim, and that list should automatically include anyone who is your next opponent (unless it's a non-tourney scrimmage).

Nice except you should be able to set a skill range of teams that you want to scrimmage.

Perhaps there could be a selectable option where eligible opponent teams must be from different leagues, or at least a different conference. I could also foresee other options, such as minimum/maximum level and/or maximum/minimum effective level.
In a perfect world, we could set all of the parameters used by the matchmaker to make sure we are getting the games we want.

I dont think it has to even be listed on your schedule or treated as a scrimmage/game.
Its just a game "on demand" so you can see some changes you have made to the OAI or DAI at work......Or how changes to the sim will effect a persons game plan (such as the shoddy CB coverages a few games ago).
This is rather than waiting on a game that means something....or a day or two for a scheduled scrimmage and see changes "instantly".
I think this is the general idea of this suggestion anyway.

It's a desperate need, but I'd prefer more control over whom I play.
You would be able to select your opponent from a list of ready opponents (that fit certain, possibly user selected, parameters). You don't have to go "ready to scrim" if you are uncomfortable doing so. That option is there for those who are ready to take on all comers.

The closest we could get is to find the next earliest available spot, at least 1 hour ahead so you don't accidentally miss the start time somehow. There tends to be open slots in the middle of the day (6am and 7am always seem to be full for some reason), so it's probable you could get a spot the same day if this were not insanely popular (and if it is, we can always throw in another server). It could maybe just show what the next open spot is before you select it so you don't randomly get a spot the next day or next week just cuz they are all full.
It would be easy enough to just specify you don't want to face anyone with the same conference id as you, or min max age or level ranges, and then we put up some sort of searchable list page. Would be kinda like a marketplace for scrimmages.
What might be kinda neat is to incorporate some sort of ladder system so you could climb up some sort of rankings by playing games against teams who were ranked around you, and use that as a way of finding matchups. I've always thought that a ladder could be fun, and it would kinda kill 2 birds with one stone: Give you a ranking system and add another competition method.
