The other suggestion was to go to 4 Pro Leagues and then add in a "international" league basically between WL and Pro. It would house the best 4 teams from all 8 current pro leagues basically.

I mean Buda is a p good team this season, the games we've lost are against top teams in WL and we had a chance to win them both, but looking at the sched we're goign to be a bubble team, drop down to Pro if we dont make the 8 seed and destroy OPL again.

If we had a "in between" league we could do demotion/promotion in and out of WL differently.

I like that as a plan.

WL is some of the best thing there is about GLB because every freakin game matters. the competition is so high ... replicate that somehow someway on the next level down should be the goal. the whole sim seems balanced/tested for the end game but outside the WL .. the exp blows.

lots of diff ideas that aim to accomplish that .. all have good and bad i think.

I don't care about others Pro leagues, all I want is EEPro.

EDIT: Btw, if we didn't had WL these 32 teams would be in Pro like the old days. WL was a silly idea imo.

and everyone is playing for 2nd place? that's worse than having just 3-4 teams per region having any legitimate chance.

though maybe my goals are different than others, which i can respect

Ken, w/ all due respect, you got to get there and experience it before you knock it down. Even in Sofia's 6-10, 3-13, 2-14 seasons I still had fun and I wouldnt be near the owner/coordinator w/out those experiences....and it's showing w/ Buda...you learn so much up there win or loss.

2nd place? what you mean? If WL and the elitist behavior of their teams wasn't there players could be spread in Pro leagues. But surely I'm not the best to talk about these, rarely recruit because I have good agents that follow my team from our creation.

I gotta agree with this... just not being in IN the WL leaves you out in the cold recruiting the best dots, and then when you finally get there, you get hammered because all the best dots you wanted are already there on other teams...

are you suggesting that if you abolish the WL you can then compete with HHWC or Blaze or ___ over the same dot? i don't really agree. proven teams will always have the edge in recruiting. it would mean the WL teams going 16-0, 15-1 and your team (general you) going 12-4. fringe agents generally will want to play for a team that has the best shot at the ultimate prize - gold. (unless you offer something else - fun forums, etc)

jb is right on at least one point ... increase the talent pool. then the glut won't all be able to "fit" at the top and you will get a trickle down effect.

i would also argue some people are putting too much faith into a builds. but that's another discussion


edit ... this is also ignoring that most of the long-establish teams have an intricate farm system and aren't really recruiting in the open market to begin with.

I agree with Spider sort of!

Keep the WL, drop down to 4 Pro Leagues, go to 8 AAA Leagues, 8 AA Leagues and 16 A Leagues!

Yeah, but losing 4 teams from Alpha would seriously weaken the conference.

What you say here is partially true. But serious Pro teams (my team included) have a core group of agents that know how to build good dots and in a few seasons when younger players from our farm teams grow up (All Stars farm, Serpents farm and many others) will be able to compete against anyone. We don't need recruiting (actually this was the only season I had to recruit because next season team will say bye bye to Pro). Just wait and you'll see.

that's great to hear bro but are you honestly having as much fun today when you put any time into maybe a few games a season and then playoffs? (where i realize anything can happen ...)

i guess my perspective is - i have the most fun doing the coordinating and it just is barely necessary at the Pro level. so yeah, i'm a bit turned off by the current alignments
