It's one of the flaws of EL as a measure of a team. Most of your players are lower than your average SP value (since Cs, Ks, and Ps add so much), so adding depth usually hurts your average SP value but does not actually make your team worse.

You have to look at the whole picture: SP value, # of players, scouting bars, Chem, and then add in what you know about the care level and gameplan ability of the GMs.

Also lots of people pump the fuck out of their first two attributes but neglect SAs and the complementary attributes

I mean, Syracuse's o-line has terrible effective SPs but we did pretty well last playoffs running the ball

Actually I think every season our roster is in the high 1080 to low 1090 range. But OPL must have gotten worse, we're typically in the teens

Zeta has two teams in the top 10. lolzeta

Last time we were in OPL, Alpha was much better than Zeta, but it's been awhile. I remember barely making the playoffs in Alpha, but we beat the #2 seed and every other team Zeta had to offer that one season. Seeing us put in Zeta upon our return, I was hoping we'd be pretty competitive, but OPL has gotten even better as a whole when we're at 1021 and are pretty low on the totem pole.

If we can go .500 in this thing I'll be thrilled...
