USAPL up 12-9 with one game left tonight.

20 teams...wow..... or 7....both are close. And only 6 next season.

Don't forget that most folks think that EEPL is not a good league. Those of us who play there know it is solid, despite the seasons of tough recruiting by losing players to USAPL because they wanted to play in USA!

This is what those SAPL spammers like ITS fail to realize. Without the WL, EEPL would have never closed the gap like this on USAPL. USAPL would have remained the elite "WL-type" region with an even stronger pull on FA dots (instead of "WL only" it would be "USAPL only")

EE Pro finished strong. It was almost getting ugly when it was like 12-5... but good comeback... I got love for EE Pro from my Wife Carrier days over there..... and the league doesn't suck if anybody thinks that anymore.... but the truth is that USA is just on another level even after depletion from the WL.

Eh, I don't see how you can say that when SLAP has clearly been impressive within the World League. Kai are douchebags, but I have to give that region credit. USA really has never proved itself at that level except for the one obvious super-merger. Lincoln and HHW both earned respect, but no more than teams from a lot of other regions.

Revolution win the final game:

Russian Revolution ………. 37 ………. Tennessee Fury ………. 13 ……….http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1267742

Final tally: USAPL 12, EEPL 10

Lots of close games, and a decent challenge overall. Well done by both leagues.

One thing I notice looking back now at how teams finished is that several top USA teams did not participate:

Louisville Baby Kittens 12-3 (2nd in East)
Richmond Rebel Yell 9-6 (5th in West)
New Orleans Hoodoo Voodoo 9-6 (6th in West)
Paris French Connection 8-7 (10th in East)

For EE, the top 9 teams currently in their Alpha conference all participated as did the top 10 teams in their Zeta Conference. The only team with 8 or more wins out of EE who did not participate is the 8-7 Paragonal Force (currently 10th in their Alpha Conference).

That creates a situation where not only are we replacing 3 of our best teams with 3 of our worst (ie the 1-14 Chicago Blitz, 3-12 Baton Rouge and 3-12 Ontario for instance), but a lot of our teams have to play "up". For example, we're currently 5-10 in USA Pro but were faced with an 8-7 EE Pro team.

Which is fine - we brought the teams we brought and they brought the teams they brought. But considering that they brought their best teams we didn't, I think us winning the challenge anyway is a little more impressive than the final 12-10 score. No doubt had we both brought equivalent teams, USA Pro would have won by a runaway.
