Yes I specifically had it set to "run" plays in overtime as my "quarter" for running. If you look at all of my air attack tourney games last season and this game, I did no intentional runs during the first 4 quarters and was waiting for basically this situation, where the game goes to OT to bring out the running game.

For quick reference here are my Air Attack Tourney games from Season 13:

Ok...if that's the case, then I think you guys should have a rematch. But everyone knows now that running in OT can disqualify you if it goes to double OT.

there really isn't a 1st & 2nd overtime. If there were then the 2nd overtime would begin with a kickoff. The multiple overtimes are only put into place b/c the coding can't handle not operating within 15-minute timeframes, meaning they can't just have unlimited time. So I don't really view 1st & 2nd overtime as more than 1 quarter.

Obviously it's up to LE and the voting committee to decide what a "quarter" is and how this rule should work going forward. And I'm not part of the voting committee, but I am a licensed attorney so I feel compelled to throw my .02 in here: I tend to agree with Ping. Overtime lasts until it ends. It might not happen at all, or it might go on for hours. It's sudden death, and I think the timing is there mostly as a convenience for coding.

Having said that, the reasoning that there's no kickoff between 1OT and 2OT is inaccurate; there are only kickoffs every other quarter in football, so the kickoff determining factor would be whether there is a kickoff as the start of the 3OT.

But it's my opinion that it doesn't matter--playoff-style OT is essentially an unlimited duration period that goes until anyone scores. OT should therefore count as a single quarter for purposes of the AAT.

I feel that this argument is the one best supported by logic, and there are other reasons to rule in favor of it: for example, the risk-reward scenario described by Gerr.

Ideally, Kaerey should have gotten a ruling on this before using OT as his rushing quarter, but that didn't happen. So either the voting committee can decide how it should work for this game (and going forward), or Kaerey and junglejuice could agree to just play this one over since it's unclear, and the voting committee (or LE) can decide how it should work going forward.

Very interesting points made. Now that I think of it OT could be used as an entire quarter since there is no official kickoff for the second OT. Now I change my vote. I vote in favor for Springfield to advance.

Rule added: If a team passes the entire game and the game goes into overtime, then you may run the ball for the entire overtime. Its a gamble but I think thats a fair rule.

So what's the story with Surly Goats vs. Under Armor / Lone Star? Was there a substitution? Just trying to figure out who our next opponent is likely to be.

You need to schedule a game with Lone Star Mercs. They replaced them since they didnt accept the scrimmage

Nah, Lone Star is set against Cascade. I'm with Gashlycrumb, we'll be playing the winner of that game in the 2nd round. Just trying to figure out who we're likely to face so I can do some scouting early. We've been buried in snow the past few days so I've got free time right now that I probably won't have a few days from now.

Like Gongadan said, there wouldn't be a kickoff until the THIRD OT, just like there isn't another kickoff until the third quarter...

With that said we'll obviously accept the ruling of the voting committee but just for the record we would be up for a rematch if that would be better.
