Well you can't deny it was interesting considering all the topics about it since it happened.

Exactly. I'm not trying to condemn Halifax either, I'm saying it's not a big deal. Are all the teams here telling me they never picked up a small group of players from a team here or there on their way to the top? I find that hard to believe. We also do have a large group of core agents who have been on the team since day 1. I've known the Navs guys since S2, and I joined I think around S4.

Mayan hasn't but I see nothing wrong with what Lincoln did btw

I think people are blowing Lincoln's "merge" out of proportion. We got exactly 5 players from WW and 5 players from OFG from the "merge". The rest are all free agents, recruits, agents who heard what we were doing and wanted to join.

So...yeah.

So in other words, it's like Hali's merges?

Well I wasn't implying Halifax did anything worse. It's just building a good team. Nothing wrong with it.

Jeez, you Halifax guys are so defensive.

when did this colluding thing come down to "merging teams"?

In my mind the big stink right now is colluding as it relates to two separate teams, working in concert in a game which they play each other, to guarantee a certain outcome or result.

Or when you have teams in lower leagues or whereever that you funnel equipment money through...

But seriously, merging is not collusion ffs. Why are people confusing the two?

I dont know why the already existent remedy to this situation isn't utilized. Team chemistry.

The Redskins bring in badass free agents every season who completely suck until they get hurt or are released. Why? Chemistry. The Patriots do a much better job of integrating new players, but those guys have to conform to the existing system - and they're a bunch of cheating assholes too.

A team that brings in 10-15 new starters really shouldn't be expected to perform as well as a team that's been together for 8 seasons - even if those 10-15 players are considerably better. But the chemistry penalty is so insignificant and temporary that "merged" teams can absolutely dominate right off the bat.

But don't blame owners for using everything at their disposal to win. The minute this game turns into a kumbaya orgy is the day of its death. You shouldnt want to win - you should want to humiliate.

But the funneling of money from other teams for equipment is problematic.
