Anyone else think to themselves, "Holy fuck, that is a lot of thought put into an idea I will hate regardless of how it comes out"?

tl;dr suffices in those situations

how about a Mod edits and merges this thread with the other "make coaches" thread in epic suggestions..

i know they are somewhat different - but if we have multiple similar threads in epic - a month or two from now it will be a mess

Thanks. I thought about it for a few months a while back. Then life became complicated and I didn't finish out all the stuff I wanted to come up with. So Its about half or 3/4ths thought out. Right now its a starting point and hopefully others will add onto it or tweak it.

Man Nick I need to make you a GM for my team.... that was well thought through and I really like the idea.

I dont know if coaches should be judge off of stats for XP, maybe they experience come from the avg plays from the offense if they are a offensive coordinator so basically if he has the ability to give each player a high amount of equal plays than that's where his XP come from this is good for everybody on the team and makes the most sense

Terrific idea.

more abilities would be needed, like remove Offensive Strat. and Defensive Strat. and make it HB Strat., OT Strat., etc.

I am startin to see a trend with all of these epic suggestions...
They are all (obviously) are great ideas. i would really like to see some of these implemented.

Honestly? Yeah...

I think it would be interesting to combine the ideas of players becoming position specific coaches with the idea of Agent based GM/OC/DC/STC stuff based in this thread. That way, we could have the best of both world, imo.

I think the coaches should have a limit to how long they can coach. If they dont, it is possible, remember, possible, that all coaching positions will be filled for every team and there wont be any room for newer players. I say 20 seasons is the limit.

I havent read all the pages of comments but after reading the initial post o think for the defensive side of the ball there should be 2 SA trees...

We have the 2 offensive ones with the run and the pass,

Why not have run and pass for the defensive ones to, that would open it up a bit more and make more chance for great coaches/poor coaches.

Just an idea.

I still say retired players=position coaches/trainers and then you go ahead and have a separate leveling system for OCs/DCs/STCs like the one in the link I posted above. It works out better because not all people who OC/DC want to retire a players to be able to do it.
