Kinda wondering at this point if i should bring STR to the 3rd cap and then work on AGI to the first and switch the intense training to say SPEED/STAM? Any advice appreciated as I dont think i will touch BLK for a few seasons as its at its first cap.
NOTE: i want this FB STRICTLY for plowing holes for my Power Back(who is also cap built) Long term success is the goal dont mind not being good if SPEED is ls lacking for another season or two.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1831737For a blocking build, there's two schools of thought... the pancake build and the technique build. Both are capable blockers, but the philosophy behind the build is what determines their specialty.
I would go strength to 73 for a pancake build and I would go agility to 73 for a technique build. When first making your player, you want to raise your primary attribute as high as possible and as fast as possible to gain the maximum ALG benefit to it. If you're building for the long term, you can push caps higher (say like maybe 77 strength or agility).
Your second attribute is also important, because the ALGs are still pretty good until about level 30. As the second attribute for both builds, blocking is the way to go, although the pancake build might take blocking a little higher (to further increase their chance of pancaking defenders... a technique build doesn't need super high blocking to sustain blocks, especially with access to all the +% hold block VAs/AEQ).
The third attribute to work on would be agility for a pancake build and strength for a technique build. At this point in your career though, the ALGs aren't too good to pass up any longer, so you can alternate cap it with vision and/or speed... if you choose to really be gung-ho on slow-building, just cap strength/agility.
By level 32 or so, with pretty good build efficiency... you should have 82 in your 1st primary (73 cap plus ALGs), 76 in your 2nd primary (73 cap plus ALGs) and be around 60 for your 3rd primary. By level 41 you should be able to take your 3rd primary to the 73 cap, that's with all of your secondary attributes at 30+ via training (speed/vision/stamina/confidence). After level 40, ALGs aren't all that great, so you can get speed to a respectable level without hurting build efficiency much at all. Then you just raise secondaries to a respectable level, grab some SAs and dominate IMHO.
So a pancake build might look like so at level 40, naturally... 85 strength (73 cap), 78 blocking (73 cap), 74 agility (73 cap), 35 vision and 35 speed. A technique build, naturally... 85 agility (73 cap), 74 blocking (68 cap), 69 strength (68 cap), 60 vision (60 cap) and 50 speed. For these slow-builds, EQ would mostly like all be in speed until you hit level 50 or so (once you raise speed naturally to a decent level). These builds are like having an extra piece or two of EQ over those who only go to the 68 and 60 caps though... I think it's worth it if you have the bankroll to rearrange EQ out of speed at level 50.
