I tend to favor the regional brews rather than the mainstream majors. Although Bud Select is the one in the fridge most often, Bud's American Ale isn't that bad in moderation. Here in south Texas, it's ZiegenBock, and Bud Select but have to settle for ShinerBock and Bud Lite at the arena during events.
When I'm around Oregon, it's all about the local brews. Pretty much anything that McMenamins can pour into a glass. Favorites would be the raspberry Ruby and Terminator Stout ales. Black Butte Porter also at the top of the list as a nice heavy, sipping drink.
When I was in Germany it was Weizens - preferred the Krystals but you just couldn't pass on a cold Hefe from the tap. I regularly stocked cases of Eichbaum Krystal Weizen. In winter, a couple Guinness at the Irish pub made the cold walk home tolerable.
