Well, if you want to ignorantly over-simplify that comment in the worst possible way, than sure, go ahead.

However, if he makes every effort NOT to play, than don't play him, since that's clearly what he wants. If he starts putting his gear on again, use him and don't leave him to rot.

Or... just quote watever makes someone look dumb

Like this!

So the guy's equipment is off, making him worthless, he's shown himself to be a d-bag, and you're going to do what you can to keep him on the team?

Yeah. I get what Tom's doing. Why let this douche walk all over him. I like the move, to be honest. Screw him. Make him apologize and mean it, maybe have himself ready to play a couple games. Then consider releasing him.

It's just like holdouts in the NFL. Sure, you try to trade malcontents but if you are getting no value for him...if he can trade him for another WR then sure you do that.

Otherwise, the bigger loss is on the WR, not the owner. The longer he's a dickbag, the worse off his career will be. If he starts sharing builds, he gets banned.

It's not like a holdout in the NFL. NFL players get paid, GLB dots pay. NFL is a business, GLB is a game. Obviously the agent in question seems to be contributing to the problem, but rotting should be an absolute last resort, not something decided upon after a coarse PM. Who cares if the agent thinks he pulled a fast one on you? If you're worried about the other agents on your team seeing that and following suit, you probably have the type of users who are going to pull it regardless.

eh, I'm not a big turn the other cheek guy, that's all.
If someone is a dick to me, they can go screw off far as I'm concerned. Game, rl, whatever.

Funny how cherrie disappeared back under the rock that pond scum like that tends to live under.

I bet you've never had your own player on a team you wanted off of, lol...

I've been on some shitty teams and it's a 2 way street for sure

I did, I never called the owner a ****** *****, or told him to take a **** out of his **** and stick a *** in it, though. I never tried to use some trickeration to try to fool him into letting me go. I just was respectful, found a reasonable trade, and what do you know, I got what I wanted. There are bad owners who will rot people for no reason, but this is surely justified.

I changed his contract to be a season shorter, left him in the games. Then he conspires with cherrie for this stuff, and won't admit to it. Cherrie then hurts the case even more by spreading completely untrue things in this thread against me. I honestly don't think they are worth any effort on my part.

Cherrie reminds me of that one chick around here that flipped out when she went AWOL and one of her GM's traded all her players away or something... started talking about how everyone that didn't agree with her 100% was a rapist or something? Anyone else remember that thread?

Needless to say, none of my recollections of her are anything close to positive.

Wait it's cherrie? I remember back in S2 when MJD(now in USA Pro) was on my team(I sold it awhile back) and I traded him to Capones team for XC's RB. Cherrie PMed XC to ask him to give her info on the Cheetah's builds and tactics.(capones team) Her and Capones hated each other, she did quite a lot of shady shit. That's just the only one I can remember.

Then Cherrie shows she's still reading this thread and her maturity by sending me a PM talking shit and then blocking my PMs to her. Are you really that scared of what my retort would have been? Bad news sweetie, I don't have enough respect for you to grace you with my anger.

Wow this thread is getting famous.

So let me get this straight - an Agent doesn't want to play for the team, the situation blows up, everyone hates each other and the final outcome is that you end up paying his player to just sit and train????

Why not trade him and get some cash for him?

why argue this much over a game - there is strife enough to go around without making more - especially over a game that is supposed to be enjoyable for everyone, call me naive but I actually play this to relax - not to get even more stressed out.

So he didn't want to stay on the team and maybe he had a friend go ask about a trade - h*ll maybe he didn't - so what.

If he insulted you make a note of his agents name and avoid that in the future - but why you would want to drag it out is beyond me - I wouldn't waste my energy like that.

Because he gets XP in this outcome.

Actually yes I did, I get that you feel insulted and jerked around, and if that pm said what I'm guessing it said - you are justified - but respectfully - two wrongs do not make a right.

If they truly did try to manipulate you - that was wrong but so is rotting him.

This could be a Kid, it could have been misunderstanding and misconceptions that got blown out of proportions, it could have been quite innocent, he could have been mislead by third party etc. etc.

But in the end you have a choice - take the high road and show that you are an exceedingly fair owner or get vindictive - speaking for myself I would have gone with the first option.

I mean for heavens sake - it's just a game.

Taking the high road when someone is trying to get their own way through lying isn't an option imo. People keep saying that Tom should show how classy an owner he is or whatever but is it really unclassy to punish a player for destructive behavior? If he just lets him go it sets the standard to the team that you can lie to tom and he'll let it go, you can be a douche to him and you'll get your way. From the way it sounds this guy is a complete tool, and the one thing all tools have in common is that if u give em an inch they take a mile. Not saying that you would necessarily have it happen again either way but the guy deserves to be benched after that so there's no reason not to unless you wanna go out of your way to be nice to someone that's a prick.
