Nothing wrong with Csonka. It's the blocking on certain/most run plays. That and stamina should play a bigger role and effectiveness should go down after 30-35 carries or so.

im just afraid Bort will overreact and whatever he changes makes dominant players worthless. Historically, his changes are too drastic

we'll have an offense-less season 9. then he'll buff everything back to seaon 8, for season 10

Period.

I like the idea that there are dominant players at each position. Despite the conviction of many, Csonka alone doesn't win every game for MEM. They're an extremely good team across the board... Csonka just plays a starring role this season. It's not like MEM would suddenly become easy to beat without him, though.

Yeah Ubass, I'm also concerned that forthcoming "game adjustments" will be made more out of a desire to appear responsive to forum complaints rather than any big-picture assessment of what needs to change in the sim engine. And the result will be worse than what we have now.

Let's not forget that tackling a powerful RB is draining on a defense too. If we're going to "fix" the SIM in favor of realism, we need to remember that RB's aren't the only players on the field who fatigue.

The entire fatigue issue needs to be relooked. I have an OL who played ~50 plays and ended the game with 97 energy. That's ridiculous.

His success is not the result of an exploit. But he is the pinnacle of the exploit in practice, because MEM runs like 60 times a game with the same player.

have you seen his carries lately

So you go into pass mode after going up big on bad teams early. You can't fool me. We do the same thing at the pack!

Any well built power back would excel behind that line tbh.

Bort will overreact if history repeats itself, unfortunately.

Unfortunately you're probably right. I think it's because he comes out with all these updates and rolls them all out at once. 20+ updates all at once is usually overboard.

Not only that but he's got a history of fucking up things that were already working well. Case and point, DE's from a few seasons back. All the whiners called for a nerf but the better OT's in GLB were still able to hold the best DE's to 1-2 sacks fairly well with the right amount of agility. Ofcourse bort had to nerf them to hell to appease the whiners and make a mediocre tackle able to contain the likes of LJ, David Amazing, etc. w/o much trouble.

it's almost like Bort had no idea what build was going to work best in his game when it went live.

I think he had an idea...for levels 1-10. Every season as players get better and better, it seems like he doesn't quite know what is going to happen. The balance of the game swings around from offense to defense, from position to position.

Then he spends his time catching up...working on changes to adapt to these new higher level players.

Because he has to do this catching up every season, he can't fix basic stuff that has been broken since season 1. Like timeouts at the end of the half for instance.

The test server (though poorly executed) is a step in the right direction if he uses it properly to plan ahead, so that he won't have to keep playing catchup every season.

Truth.

He did the same thing with kickoffs. Guys like Puchtit Wright and my K, Videtech were able to get touchbacks on 30-40% of their kickoffs while noodle legs were having horrible kickoffs. Great! Now my kicker AVERAGES over 79 yards a kickoff since the change. He's had two games in a row that he's averaged 80+ yards. Hasn't had a kick returned in 4 games and had one game with all his kickoffs 80+ yards! That's just insane. All so some noodle legs can feel good about kicking touchbacks. *sigh*

So, basically the KR game is majorly borked now because we are back to the best kickers never get anything returned on them. That is broken. I feel sad for all the guys that invested in special teams and building a dedicated kick returner.

I'm confused as to why you included the words "it's almost like".
