This was the starter league, look at what Bort was talking about when it was formed, but as soon as people started sand-bagging thier team it really became more of a regular league.

This is one of the reasons he is trying to figure out what in the hell to do about the level parity within the leagues, mainly using BBB as his example, as he said he didn't think the problem would be as bad as it is now.

If you're freaked out at me, then you're going to feel miserable when some of these other teams start boosting their other players at the end of the season. I show my hand early and suddenly I'm a villain. Starter league? Considering most teams have level 7ish players at least in the beginning of the game, I'd hardly call that beginner.

Nobody is making you into a villan, while you were tooting your horn you got called on one of the main reasons your stats might be well, nothing to be ashamed of, its the guys opinion.

Even if they were mostly 7, that would mean that they were basicly backups last season and not the higher level players. I would see nothing wrong with a seven, but when this league was formed and teams were starting level 1-4 and are suddenly thrust against a level 10-13, which was fairly common, seemed kind of dickish for the reason this league was formed.

When I founded the Blitz, I formed it for new players to develop and learn the game. Every player on my team was new except one. All of the people (except the one) are friends of mine that had just started playing the game. The average level on the Blitz was 2 or 3 on the first game with a number of my friends boosting their players as soon as they created them. They did this because they saw other teams bring in their higher level hired guns.

I'm not saying anything against doing that. I'm just pointing out the intent of my team and how we were composed.

Considering I know LJ and his player and like to have a little competitive banter in argument in between everyone signing off that guy as "the other greatest DE ever," please note that he's level 16 probably without boosts. He was a higher level than me the whole time he played here. I'm not "tooting" my horn, I'm just trying to have fun banter in the voting thing. Is it even "officially" allowed? And do I even "officially" care? No, I just like discussing about it. It's not like you can hand out "Pro Bowl" pins to people. I know the contributions I've made to my team, just like every other player has. The difference is that I just have 1 player to talk about in this game when it comes to me personally, so I'm sorry if it seems that I actually enjoy the fact that my DE build is finally starting to pay off.

If I can't playfully jab at people "voting," then I won't. But don't question my integrity with joining this league, and don't expect everyone to have to be level 11 right now. Because seeds 1 through 4 in the West? They all have at least a couple level 15-17 people. I wouldn't call "free agency" sandbagging either. Signing players is signing players. There was no rule to signing level 1 through early boosted 4 people. That was just the majority of what people had. There were many free agents available for teams, and I joined the Regulators because of the owner. I would be level 14 right now without having boosted a couple of games ago, and no one would've gurgled up blood about it. More players have yet to do it. I just want to do my part in keeping our team at the 4th seed for the sake of getting to play a home game for the owner's revenue.

*Edit* Take it to the smack forum if there's anything else, because this conversation ain't even what this topic is about. I just feel like I'm being randomly attacked.

Interesting. That's pretty cool, Bellevue.

No one is being randomly attacked. This isn't a forum for everyone to promote their own player. AS you said, that is what the smack talk forum is for. This forum is for voting for players that you think (in our little FANTASY world here) deserve to be voted into a fictional pro bowl.

Rembrandt, I could care less what level you are.

I simply said that I probably wouldn't vote for you because you are spamming the board.

I say if a team can sign a high-level guy to this league without hurting their budget, more power to them.

Should level come into play in a Pro Bowl vote? I don't know, maybe. If the stats of two players are the same and one is 3 levels lower, I think it's more impressive. Is he BETTER than the higer level player? Highly unlikely.

I am not adding more quotes. I see no reason why you can't ask why someone would not vote for your player. It isn't talking smack it is just being invested into the game which some of us are. If you have a piece to say about the Pro Bowl I say get it on. You don't have to say anything to anybody your vote can speak for itself.

I might have read that somewhere but I think it is not an issue once somebody understands that you are improving your players more by "sandbagging." If you were losing it would be more of an issue because you would be screwing the independent people. Since your winning I would say that I don't care, maybe someone does but every owner handles their team in their own way.

I don't give a piss about the pro-bowl bs ballots. I certainly was not trying to stir shit, if some pansey ass has thin skin when he wanted to know why people might not vote for him, then sorry.

"if some pansey ass has thin skin when he wanted to know why people might not vote for him, then sorry"

Except thats not what your doing... your taking something you know nothing about and stretching it into something it isnt.

Rembrandt was a lvl 12 just days ago... is that too high for this league? He was saving his boosts and benifited from it. Most of the season there were several DEs with a higher level than him. He was also one of the first players that signed with me so he has been here since the beginning when we were nothing but CPU players. Most of the guys I have brought in through trading have been bc of players I already had who desperately wanted to go thier own (or buddy's) team.
