Just hold tight, let's see how the new forum improvements take effect before we judge them. Because I think it will make everyone's lives a lot easier.

I'm sure they will but Cornblade / Bort & Thorn did all the work on the forum improvements.

I don't think I'm leaking anything when I say that's categorically false.

'Coz yep, if there's anything GLB's staff has earned from us, it's the benefit of the doubt that new features are going to work as planned and as intended for the increased enjoyment of everyone.

Sure he wrote a thesis on how he thought things should work, but those dudes had to code it. So my point stands. I can write a design document in 2 weeks, then vacation the other 50 while someone codes away.

Is it going to an even bigger improvement than the last forum rules overhaul?

I reserve the right to doubt Bort and Co's ability to be successful at anything regarding customer satisfaction, history says it's not their strong suit.

I understand the skepticism... and maybe it's a bit of hope for the new system. Like any massive change there might be a learning curve/growing pains but I feel both the user and the moderator will be better off in the new system... At least that's my take. When it gets released, I hope there's a little flexibility if we see aspects of it could use some tweaking but if not, the new system has a much better feel imo.

I work in a field where I'm a bridge between IT/programmers/developers and the other side. I often find myself doing supplemental programming and tweaks to what I get from IT in order to ensure that the end product we provide is accurate and before any analysis gets done that it's correct.

So I don't think it's quite that simplistic. but yeah you're right, coders code..

I believe it will be... Sometimes you have to do slightly unpopular things if it fits the vision of what you want your product to be. I hated archetypes when they first were released. I thought right then and there it was the death of the game. No more unique builds (although they were conceptualized to remove cookie cutter builds). I didn't understand why TE/WR were 5 Major and CBs and LBs were 4 Major dots. I thought it'd lead to less points because D's would finally be just flat out better. I was wrong.. It turns out that it ended up being just fine in the long run.

Asking a question and making multiple posts indicating that you can't understand why someone would answer in the affirmative, then dismissing explanations for answers in the affirmative is why you have the reputation you do.

And if the new forum system falls as flat as the previous new, improved forum system you guys promised would improve the user experience?

We'll at least the dots have legs now. Fucking LEGS!!!

Pretty much this. And any of us with children know that all lies contain plenty truth.

It's sad but I can live with it , I will hang around still as usual and see how the new game pans out. But to try and sweep some of that stuff is pretty detrimental to the game itself imo. Those IM's looked pretty real but again could have been photo shopped , grain of salt.

I always knew "I'm better at the game then you are" was a crock and I still play because that's the norm in these games. But for those that ARE better it becomes WHY are you better. Some guys are because they figured it out , those I respect the others well ? Hollow victory comes to mind for them.

End of day it's still a game , on the internet.
