That's the problem, yep .. you can fill out the roster with CPUs and make them sit, but then you also have to line up against non-Iron Man teams

OUTLAW is part of "Project Bort" where they go thru epic suggestions and get Bort's initial impression. I'd be interested in Bort's second impression once he's made aware that we're NOT seeking any coding time regarding OOP or anything else--merely a limited roster size.

Part of the confusion here is not knowing who is commenting in an "official" fashion and who is merely giving an opinion.
And now I'm even more confused than I was before

This is the official word: The roster size is a problem. Nothing has been said about OOP in Project Bort.

This was the official word (albeit quoted by a mod, not from Bort direct) but Bort did come into the thread briefly the few pages after.
The feasibility problem came a few people not wanting to compromise the inital 15 roster space idea, when I think the majority of this ideas supporters would be fine with 20.
(Of course, I think everyone would rather have 15, but if it comes to getting this idea done versus not done...)

Yes, but it's also a matter of logistics.
Would you rather wait one or two seasons to get 15 instead of 20, knowing that once it starts with 20 it's going to be very hard to change it? Definitely
Would you rather wait 5 seasons or longer to get 15 instead of 20? No, I'd rather have an Iron Man League.
I think it's a unique way to play the same game with the same rules, but holds the possibility of some truly unique builds, creative strategies and long-time rivalries. Judging from the response, I'm not alone there

Thank you Knick, and thanks to all the mods who have helped to support this idea and worked on the feasibility with Bort.
I'm sorry if I get a little frustrated at times because we've gotten conflicting feedback, and it's hard to tell the difference between what's "official" and what's not.

See the Project Bort thing in my sig?
Click it.
Memorize who is on it. I'm the only non-mod involved in PB currently.
Anything we post that is quoting Bort, or telling you what Bort is doing ect. is probably in an "official" aspect.
Also, haole.
WTF? Just mods?

No offense intended, Outlaw. Now that I know what I can consider official and what I can pretty much take with a grain of salt, it clears things up a lot.
I'm slow sometimes and I didn't realize there was an official list. Seems like there's about a million different things you have to read to figure out exactly what's going on and, to be honest, I'm much busier working with my teams in the actual game than I am in the suggestions forum. Since this idea is kind of my "baby", I check this thread frequently.
Here's where the confusion came in:

It needs its own leagues.
It needs players to COMPLETELY change their builds, though ideally it would actually involve new player classes.
It needs OOPs changed, since currently they decimate playing on the wrong side of the ball.
Really, Iron Man with just a roster size change would be fun for maybe three games.
Since pottsman is a "Suggestions Mod", I gave his comments some weight that apparently was more than they were deserving of. I had assumed, as a Suggestions Mod, he must be "in the know" as to why this suggestion was passed over and moved into the main forum.
Apparently he was just expressing a personal opinion, and not helping to pass along the word from above. I mis-read these statements as indicative that the idea had not been thoroughly considered on the merits for which we presented it -- because he presented them as absolutes and not as personal opinion.

life is a matter of compromise and this is one that many seem willing to accept.

Lets propose this to be "locked leagues" for Ironman and then it should moved back to Epic. There is 100% no difference between this idea and the "cool kids" locked league idea except roster sizes. Both are Custom team leagues formed from level 1, both are filled with Agents who want to be apart of something no one else can take away, etc, etc, etc....
Locked League IRONMAN!
Locked League IRONMAN!

if it's the only way to get an Iron Man League -- like because there is almost no chance the coding will be changed to allow for 15-man roster limits at any point in the near future of the game -- then yes, 20 is an acceptable compromise
So let's do it
EDIT: But I am willing to wait a season or two for 15-man rosters if there's a high probability that the coding will be changed to allow for it. To me, that's the ideal roster size. So now it's just a matter of figuring out the likelihood for the change
