And if Bama loses?

If MSST loses a close one to Bama they will not fall out.

It is possible, but I doubt they would fall far, and would still have a chance at bumping TCU if they win the Egg Bowl.

Bandwagon...lol...a 2 loss SEC team, just because SEC? Yeah, no...TCU would do fine in the tournament (I'd pick em to win over FSU), I would not pick MSS or Ala over FSU however...

And yes, I think Auburn will likely beat Alabama this year...meaning a bunch of 2+ loss SEC teams...

No, I pick TCU, FSU, Oregon and whatever SEC team has the best record at the end.

I'm certainly not bandwagon SEC, I've always admired their play so certainly nothing Bandwagon about it. I don't even live in SEC land and never have fwiw.

TCU getting in is a joke as things stand today. Why would they be in over a 1-loss Baylor team, whom they got torched to the tune of SIXTY-ONE points?! Big 12 shouldn't have a rep.

ASU/OR winner, FSU if they win out and SEC winner, plus another...too early to call

Still all mute at this point really because so many meaningful games to play...

FSU isn't a lock to win out...but if they do, would you pull a 1-2 loss SEC team in and knock them out due to their SOS? Better way of asking is would you drop them out of the top 4 with an undefeated season in the ACC?

TCU got torched to a tune of 3 points...

What about the ASU loss to UCLA if you want to go there? Almost a 40 point loss? At least TCU came within 3 points of being undefeated to this point....

TCU wont win any games on defense and defense wins championships...which is why I think Ore/TCU would be a good matchup and FSU/MSS(Ala, AU) would be a good matchup with the winner of that second pairing winning it all in the end.

FSU has a better defense than TCU or Ore...but not the others in the group.

I think Ala beats MSS pretty handily..but also think AU beats Ala...so not sure how all that plays out in the end....

Edit...the MSSST win over Au is the one game that really has me scratching my head in that conference...

first 2 plays on offense we ran we were already down by 14 because of turnovers.
Auburn doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs no matter how things play out imo. And I am an Auburn fan/grad. When you play defense as bad as we do you should never get to play for a championship

SEC could still have 2 spots the way I am looking at it. If FSU slips up or esp if ASU beats Oregon. Bama wins out and MSST wins out you will have 2 there. I don't think there is anyone there that will clip TCU left. But at this time I would put MSST in over TCU

It's actually kind of funny...as soon as the realization set in that the SEC in fact could potentially have 0 teams in the playoffs, they immediately started making a hard case for an 8 team format..lol

I actually would be for an 8 team playoff (more good games for 1) and I believe it would expose the SEC as not being SUPERIOR as the other top teams. SEC teams playing teams ranked significantly below them and going .500 does not impress me. This way they will HAVE to play the top teams, and I think bandwagoners would be quite surprised...

I think it's funny that you ignore the fact that the SEC won 8 of the last 9 National Championships. You are bitter and have a shrouded sense of reality due to your anti-SEC bias

You point out the exact reason for his theory.

Why would we need 8 team playoffs. The SEC as KOB said has won 8 of the last 9 titles. That does not mean it will continue but history does tend to repeat itself. Being said that there are some good teams in the hunt. But if you put teams IE FSU, Oregon and TCU in the SEC west I would not think they would be unscathed.

But you will make this same argument all season long as to why FSU was not #1 all year...and that argument is "that was last year".

I have never argued once that FSU should be #1 (although it is interesting) all season long simply because they were the defending champs and have not lost since. That was last year, this is this year. Hell, FSU has been to the BCS title game MORE times than anyone in the SEC...I bet that number would be doubled if they HAD been in the SEC, just because of my SEC argument.

However, you feel wholly that because the SEC did well in the past, they should automatically be ranked high and get into the playoffs. My theory is that the SEC does have great teams, but as a conference whole, they are over-rated so much that when a team like MSS beats overrated SEC teams, they then become the fastest rising team in the rankings ever...

If MSS played those same 3 teams back to back today (#17, #24 and #9)...does anyone TRULY think they immediately rise to #1? I don't...just something to think about. I don't hate the SEC or am bitter about it. I just think that the money making machine called ESPN gives the conference too much credit as opposed to individual teams.
