For the record...I have not been in the armed forces personally...I think my post about brothers and sisters may have brought that about. Like Sawyer, I believe we owe more to our people serving in the military than we can ever repay. Whether you believe in the cause or not is of no importance. Having children did that to me, as I feel it has for most.

I will pull back some of my comments about college boys. When I left high school I looked around and noticed that all the "rich boys went to college and the poor boys went to work" (Charlie Daniels). That being said, there is room in this world for us all I guess.

Anyhow, good chatting with you boys, can't wait to read these forums when the elections come around.

all bullshit aside, i believe that most of us can agree to support the troops. most of them joined the armed services for reasons not tied to politics and are quite admirable.

I support the troops. But I don't support the man who sent them there to die in the modern day vietnam. NO matter what do savages will be savages. I want the troops home, with their families.

There is no peace with terrorists. It is a totally different way of thinking. I still believe that 9/11 would have never happened had we had a different adminstration in office. And no I don't think he organized it but he sure didnt help matters. Leave the Iraqis to themselves we do not need to be there we never did. But someone had to finish what daddy could not do. We are no closer now to finding Bin Laden then we where after 9/11. Its a waste of resources and american lives.

Ummmm....9/11 was already planed i'm sure. I doubt it had to do with Bush being in office. I would of loved to see what Gore would of done. Probably just sat by and shruged. and bitched about global warming

If we leave the Iraqis alone, the they surely do not sit around twiddling their thumbs. They will will eventually take action. If we as a nation do not quell these radical's ways, the we as a nation will turn to radicalism.

The US can't pull out of there now. Whether or not they should be there at all, I'm not arguing, but they can't just pull everyone of the troops out of there. That entire region would go to complete hell and WWIII wouldn't be far behind. As unstable as it is there now, imagine an anarchist state sitting in the middle of it all. If the US pulls out, that's exactly what Iraq would become, and it'd be a great safe haven for any and all terrorists to converge.

bought into the war propaganda i see. no president will dismantle our military or allow a war to take place on american soil. it would be unprecedented and totally unrealistic. congress wouldn't allow it. U.S. citizens wouldn't allow it. the president would be impeached if he/she proposed such a thing. think for yourself dude. don't buy into fear tactics which conveniently say only republicans can prevent war. if you're anti-choice, anti-gun control, pro-wire taps...fine. but please don't think that obama would just let terrorists march into the country to do whatever they want. if you recall the fight was already brought here during mr. bush's presidency.

Exactly it was planned, and there was rumors of it. And everybody sat back and did nothing. Gore would have taken the US a different direction and I believe that 9/11 could have been avoided. Call me crazy but its how I feel. We are are entitled to our beliefs wether right or wrong. Its time for a change, again. The Clinton years were good times. Now its time for the Obama Era to begin so we can be prosperous again.

Off the war thing now. Stem cell research is a MUST. If we can cure cancer,ALS,Alzhiemers and on and on Why not? We owe it to ourselves our children and generations to come to get the ball going and make strides in this field.

The Iraqis will just keep shitting on themselves and there "enemeys" in the middle east. I really don't see the Iraqis as a threat to the us. Perhaps a few radical groups but more likely then not the vast majority of the middle east doesnt give a shit aobut the us.
