I want to make one thing clear: I've been speaking privately with Philly's owner, and he is a top-shelf person and clearly extremely knowledgeable owner. He felt my comments may have been disrespectful to his team, and I wanted to make crystal clear that was not my intention. Philly is a great team and likely to advance out of BBB this year and we may see them here in a few seasons.

But until more BBB teams beat the top tier Pro teams like DDL and Philly, about the only thing you could say is that PHILLY may be a comparable team to teams in USA PRO, not BBB in general.

I could not understand that, if you are part of Omaha why you are jumping on the Pro bandwagon then. You should be proud of the competition. And you are correct that not all BBB team can beat Pro teams. But the heading does say Philly beats Aces. They did throw out the gauntlet and now they make excuses. First it's who cares, then it's we never gave you guys a thoughtand never planned, then it's we had a game at that time, then it's we could not get into the AI (eventhough that team has 10 GMs) All contradictory, why would you need to access the AI if you never gave us a thought, if you never planned on having a game plan???? I just said those are very poor excuses. I point that out and people still want to jump in. You know as well as I do that we had a more important game that night between us!? You say one game does not mean anything, but you only play your division rivals one time...does a win or loss not mean anything? I think I am about done in here...thanks for the fun you guys. Sorry people are taking it so personally even if they mean nothing to SOME people. It means absolutely nothing to us here. We are laughing here and enjoying all the talk we generated. I hope we lose all our scrimmages, then we can learn the weak points of the team and improve. I need to get back to planning for real games, not scrimmages.

See Joe, that's where my comments were misinterpreted. My only point was that one BBB team beating a PRO team, even two, doesn't mean anything really in a scrimmage setting. But it was made out to mean everything. Aces play a game daily, and I can promise you that Flames is scouting his PRO opponents, not all the teams that offered him scrimmages which he blindly accepting. When he accepted Philly's I would venture he had no idea they were a BBB team.

In some ways, this scrimmage system has more burdens than benefits. It might be more beneficial only to run them in the offseason, with maybe something on the line (FP maybe, or game cash?) that way, they might mean something. But if everyone is not scouting and just seeing whatever happens, I don't see the value or accomplishment in that, win or lose.

Seriously. No one ever said the BBB was better than pro or even that any BBB team was better than the best Pro teams. All that was said is that our best teams can hang with you guys. I think this point has been proven but it's too bad it can't be discussed without a hand full of guys from pro getting all butt hurt. Same thing happened with the first BBB/Pro scrim. The Nats won and I mistakenly came to the Pro forum looking to start discussion and a little trash talk for good times, instead it turned into a big ol' bitch fight.
