That's a good analogy, I will remember that one, but I don't know if it really fits with what Bane was saying.
Another way of looking at it is to think that all pro sports teams are really in the hot dog and trash food business, and they coordinate pro games to get people to one spot to buy hot dogs and beer. The better the team the more hot dogs they sell.
In order for new people to start playing they have to get here first.

I think they want to be like Sony, with a mess of small games, none of which have a huge following, but all together make up a nice bundle of $$.

I did that with a few teams but there aren't really much in the way of new users. Haven't been in years. 99% of the new users you try to help really don't give a shit so I gave up.
