Nah, jd just copy/pastes a bunch of stuff I post in PFs.

That can take the form of posting rankings threads in various league forums (which can be done in less than a minute since they require no commentary). More ambitious staff members may post write-ups or game recaps and have those count towards their performance review. The contests from you and DrkSandman are good examples of things that can be done to create some activity. I believe that EllisBell has also done such contests from time to time. They're good for morale.
Do you really want me to host another contest? I could have another trivia contest if it would help with the excitement that seems to be pervading GLB main.

The moderation here has at times really cheesed me off, ala that dude that cheesed everyone off last year or so.
And I certainly have not agreed with too many of the bans warnings I have received (discussing the gay 90s with the eh in a title = ban really?) but that said
Modding here is a 100 times better than in most game forums.
Most forums dont let you talk at all.
You politely discuss the game in glowing positive terms or GTFO.
So this is better.
That said, while I understand not wanting to have 100 threads talking about the impending demise of the game, there is also something to be said about letting the forums seem active at least - by not locking all efforts at conversation.

I think it is in the best interest of GLB to allow this thread so that there is a designated place for discussion to take place rather than having to deal with trolls who go around and bitch in every thread in GLB main.
Rather than having to try to corral users who want to complain about moderation in inappropriate threads, GLB should allow discussion in this thread and this thread only. If a user bitches about moderation in any other thread, they should get an immediate one day suspension. This would set a happy balance between users being heard and keeping order in the forum.
I hope this is not used as some form of excuse to give out one day forum bans. If that happens it would be lulzy

If you mean paid as in "paid in currency rather than flex", that's not up to us and its not a practical solution either.
There's no shortage of folks who could do a fine job of modding--some of them are already on the staff. But there needs to be a focus on customer retention that is currently missing. Its not about mods putting up with more bullshit in the forums--its about recognizing that part of what seems to be bullshit at the moment *isn't* and its also about making decisions that acknowledge that the users you're interacting with are paying customers.

We can do another scavenger hunt/solve the riddle type that DrkSandman and I ran. Way more fun for the non-newbie crowd than the (lame) GLB trivia on game functions, imo.
EB, if you read this feel free to chat me on GLB2.

You're asking for us to be game moderators (customer service) basically. Different from forum moderator and a role that traditionally requires pay.
We already have partially bridged that role in the past since (most) admins dont dedicate significant time to speaking with users here on the open forum.

the old old one that involved the full mod group is NGTH, I coordinated that event and it was a beast to run smoothly. So many moving pieces.
The recent ones where you dig in the forums based on clues are super simple to do.

No, I'm suggesting that whoever defines the role of moderator does so with the understanding that those on the receiving end of moderation are paying customers. That means a portion of what has been mischaracterized as "game is broken" posting should be re-positioned as "that's why we have forums--we want their feedback". That mindset has to start with whomever is at the top and deemed to be responsible for the mod staff.
