Anybody have an explanation of something weird, or is this just typical rookie behavior?

Even if he is set to man the BTE, his starting distance is very far away, and i bet his coverage cushion settings don't help. the situation.

Actually, I'd almost bet (for whatever reason) that the ROLB is in ZONE coverage, not man. Might re-check your settings on that but his actions are more like a player dropping into ZONE coverage than anything else. Reason I say that is the FS also seems to be dropping into a deep middle zone (ROLB looks like he's dropping into a Deep Weakside Zone). Also note that the LOLB IS in man cover on the strong side TE... strong side WR is double covered. MLB is either shadowing the HB or playing short middle zone. Weak side WR is single man with CB. That's how I see the play unfolding anyways.
Even IF he (the ROLB) was set to the worst possible coverage cushion, he'd still be closer and act differently.
If, after you really double check to be certain you find he was set to man cover the BTE, then I'd file a bug ticket.

I double checked the play, and he was certainly set to man that BTE.

The starting distance is weird too, he was a bit moved up when I checked the play in the DPC. so I really have no idea what happened.
