That's still on you, sorry, I was clear from the beginning that I wasn't 'whining' and I know what I meant. Perhaps the issue is the active forum members waiting around to jump on any little thing. That seems pretty clear to me. Nothing new in forum communities for the elders to gang up and be a collective prick to people.

No, you weren't clear from the beginning that you weren't whining. You explained that later, after people mis-understood your OP for a whining post, but your OP itself sounded whiny. You know what you meant, but we didn't... because you weren't clear in your OP.

Like I said before, either every single one of us is terrible at reading comprehension, or you aren't effective as a writer at expressing your viewpoints in an understandable manner. If you want to continue insisting that your writing is just fine and that everyone else but you is the problem, fine, go ahead. You'll join a long list of failed writers with no audience and no influence, grumbling under their breath that nobody understands their brilliance.

...or, you could, y'know, take this as a sign that perhaps you need to work on your writing skills to more accurately convey your viewpoint. As you improve, people will start to take you seriously. And with that, you'll be able to build some influence and shape the course of debate here on the GLB forums -- something which you are utterly failing to do right now thanks to your stubborn insistence that your writing skills are just fine and that everyone else is the problem.

By the way, if you think I'm one of the "elders," you haven't been paying attention. Some people in the forums like me, some people don't, but I really don't have a lot of influence around here, not compared to some of the truly big names.

I'm pretty sure I have more influence than you, though. You might want to ask yourself why.

Who are you even responding to?

Prokop posted most of that yet you quoted me.

Hey, thanks for signing my guy to your sinking ship. Why on earth would I make a dot in the future for your team when you give up before game one?

Why, if you want to be a great team, are you accepting auto offers from agents?

I don't expect ever to be on a great team, but I do appreciate owners that seem to appreciate what agents have done for their team, bringing their dot in, boosting him, etc, to declare that the season is a wash before it starts is demoralizing. Teams like this should start with a -50 in team morale.

So, before you tell your team you are packing it up before the first game, consider the time, money and energy each of the current agents on your team have spent to be a part of your team.

Ahahah, It's even worse when your guaranteed to be a starter and u don't even get on the depth chart until like 4 games in... Luckily this season I signed with some decent teams and get to play a lot.

We're taking our cue from Blizzard. December 2020 sounds about right.

I kid, I kid.

It's getting closer. But yea, definitely slower than we initially thought it would be. Should be at a minimum alpha testing sometime this year.

Who cares the game was never meant to be about a team anyway imo. Otherwise they would/shuld have set it up as a "buy your team full of dots you could build yourself". That was just the shade they put over it to get the funds , end of day people are paying for their dots success not the teams. People that say otherwise are fooling more than just themselves.

The only time I care about individual dot success is when the team sucks. I would much rather be a nonfactor on championship teams than an MVP winner on one that doesn't make playoffs.

DB should be the only alpha tester.

1.) If a team owner promises you a starting spot, RUN AWAY. He's either lying just to get you to sign on the dotted line (and you don't want to play for a liar), or he's telling the truth but is willing to let a player keep their starting spot even if it's hurting the team (which in turn means he's incompetent and you don't want to play for them anyway).

2.) Ask questions. Find out what the team owner has planned for your dot, what sort of offense they'll be running, what sort of defense they'll be running, who is going to handle all of the duties for the team, what sort of experience the owner and his coordinators have, etc. If their answers sound like they were written by a 6 year old, odds are they're not organized and dedicated enough to run a team the right way. If their answers sound evasive, vague, or don't make any sense, find another team.

3.) Take your time. Don't rush things. Wait a few days before you sign with a team. The odds of you missing out on a great opportunity with a great team are slim, as long as you're honest with the team owner and let them know you're going to take your time making up your mind.

Idk about #1. If you have a pass rusher dlineman and want to be forced on 3rd downs, or a TE geared to 3rd down conversions, wanting a starting spot (and being promised it) is perfectly reasonable. I wouldn't say a recruiter saying "you'll be our starting DE and forced on 3rd downs" is a red flag...

#3 is true generally, as long as it's a reasonable amount of time. For my team I have numerous people every season who make threads days 20-32, get my interest, and then on day40 say that picked my team or ask if the offer is still there (which normally the spot is filled). Take your time to vet teams, but taking an unnecessarily long amount of time is a bad idea.
