why doesn't it work if you punch a shark on the top of the head the same way it works when you punch them in the head or snout, you know where that hard bone plate is? In short, do fish feel pain?

1) Sharks have an incredible sense of smell, it's not the punch that harms them, it's the smell of your hand.

2) Fish don't feel pain, but they do know when they are in trouble, ie predators are close by. But seriously, studies have shown that certain fish can feel pain.
