Ok, so now for my actual not smart ass answer.

Get rid of networks.
Bring back cash (atleast make it mean something)
Make EQ costs cheaper, this is after cash is brought back, so teams can afford good players and build a stadium
Make player development quicker, maybe make players got from 0 to 79 in 5 seasons)
Let players reach level 100

How do you get rid of networks on a social site exactly? Ban Pms, friends, private forums, and any teams where someone knows someone else?

People complained when the team performed too well (and I could understand their complaints) that it wasn't fair that an employee of the site was taking away trophies from paying customers. It was at that point I decided I would no longer own and coordinate a team. I still build dots though and usually all it takes for me to build a dot for a team is for someone to actually take the time to send me a private message asking if I will. Hell, I might even build 2-3 if you ask nicely enough.

Make one, even Bort or others. Have them for challenges only. Maybe as an off season thing for us to entertain ourselves. Or just in the Quick Scrim list all the time.

Some of the thoughts in this thread are pretty good and one got me to thinking, why don't you use Fame for Coordinators and Owners. The purpose would be to help assign teams to leagues so you don't get a one and done playoff team put into a lessor league they will crush and some poor guy who hasn't an idea ending up in the Elites and getting crushed.

And, finally, let me beat a dead horse. Or at least say it's not possible, enable Agents to build a Pro Dot with something like the VPB. Just scale the cost to be the same thing as if it did the slow climb. You could even grant the ability as a "prize" to those that have managed a dot or team to that level the hard way.

The league system is just too fucked up for new players. There are too many CPUs in lower level leagues and slowbuilding by veteran agents kills competition and forum activity. We really need leagues that are designated for agents who intend to slowbuild and be inactive as well as leagues for new agents and those who want league activity. If a network wants to make a farm team and ignore how those dots perform until they hit day 280, they should have the option of sticking that team in a "no cares" league until they hit plateau. If a team wants to try to compete or an agent wants to just build their dot, they should have the opportunity to put their dot/team in a league where other agents feel the same.

Unfortunately some of those zero care teams actually make the league more competitive than the high care teams.

All terrible or unfeasable.

Maybe in SP or RP, but not really in the lower leagues when they are all speed, strength, throwing, kicking, or punting. I'm really referring to the first few seasons that a new agent will experience. It's at that point that they either get hooked or they don't, and they aren't going to get hooked very often if the league is a clusterfuck of CPUs and slowbuilds.

And back on the topic of CPUs, no more than one league per level should ever start the season with a CPU team.

Really though. The first few seasons they kinda are too. Not all sure but a lot of those teams actually finish in the playoffs. It gets to be about University where the game itself becomes kinda crap through Nat Minors where these teams get really fleshed out and highly noncompetitive.

we have those leagues. They are called the D-leagues

maybe slow builders should use them more often

The complexity of player building and the never-ending pursuit of a better build than you made the last time is the main reason this game still exists after five years.

Funny I don't remember being embarrassed once over it...and certainly not by the likes of you. i have seen just as many people agree with me as I have seen agree with you.

News flash...just because you say it doesn't make it fact. You have your opinion and I have mine, and I will continue to opine when and where I want. Thanks.

I have seen like 5 people say ALG's were bad for this game. Building in this game would be pretty lol sad though without them.

of all the things I could say is "wrong" with this game, ALGs isn't close to my top 20.

In fact on the list of the 5 things that are right, the only thing on it is ALGs.

D-leagues are for people who can't find teams and are terrible for new agents.

I was referring to experienced players who just want to do their own thing, can put them on D-league teams.

it's those agents that are killing the competition in normal leagues anyway because they don't really care about results so move them to d-leagues. You can still talk to your buddies in a plethora of private forums and let the teams who really care about competition play in the regular leagues.
