If you go back and look at seasons pasts standings you will see majority of the teams in Gold had 5 or less agents. Half of those were one man teams. How many seasons can you go spending hundreds of dollars and then realizing your playing for a 65 x 65 gold trophy that you can't even touch? I was fortunate to have an abundant of great agents for the Window Lickers. Even the merged team with Chicago has a lot of carry over agents form Short Bus. I would of been broke a long time ago and probably quit playing had I had to fund my entire team. I was lucky enough to have over 20 agents so I managed to only have to spend a few each season. Still sitting on 50K plus but eventually it will run out and then I can't see myself spending anymore for flex when it's not a good investment.

So if they gave you a real trophy would you be motivated to play more?

General summation of this thread and the comments made and mostly agreed on throughout with intent or no intent.

Competition in a non-live-action sports simulation game that cost about as much as fielding an NFL team in reality... breeds quitters and champions-nothing in between.

In that sense I have to agree with Dub in that ideally the best way to eliminate the furtherment of the falling off of this league would be to then eliminate changes that were created to generate more competition... ie the gold/silver/copper leagues.

Personally I don't see the promise of "being the best" in a silver league when people are just going to undermine it and then dominate you the next season.

This game would be a great deal more fun if every league required a fight to at least win a playoff game-though I think it would take a great deal more than just eliminating tiered leagues to get every league having to fight for a playoff spot... it certainly would be a step in the right direction.

end rant.

TL;DR:

Get rid of gold/silver/copper because there aren't enough players to support it as a healthy league structure.

Back when this game was new people cared about their leagues. Now everything is all about the end game to most of the userbase. When I post "end game", I'm not necessarily referring to taking a dot to plateau. I'm making reference to making it to the highest league in your league type and winning it. For example: peewee's endgame = winning gold, casual's endgame = winning CasPro, regular endgame = winning WL.

I'm actually more of a throwback. The most important leagues to me are the ones my teams are competing in. I couldn't give two shits about WL, PW Gold, or CasPro if I don't have a team there. I loved it back when just making the playoffs in any league was a big deal. I think my favorite memory is back in Canada BBB when I was with Montreal and we made the playoffs in a very stacked league.

I think the elite leagues in the minors have brought a bit of that back but it's still not the same. The elephant standing in the middle of the room that most people (including admins) want to ignore is that there are too many teams. I'm tired of hearing this shit about "if everyone doesn't have a spot for their QB/HB people will leave the game". You know what? Fuck 'em if they can't get onboard with this game.

Back when people were forced to build at least a dot in demand/serviceable or sit it out this game was much more enjoyable. Basically the admins have fucked up this game for everyone just to appease a handful of people that just have to build a player that no one needs.

So now it's pretty much endgame or bust since endgame is where you will see the most activity.

And yes, I would gladly give back most of my teams if the admins would finally contract all the leagues.

To be honest, peewee is the most interesting thing you can do at this site. The whole element of building a team a certain way and playing around with shit and tearing the team down after the season and doing something different the next is why I keep coming back to peewee. Nowhere else can you do this and still be the least bit competitive. The only reason I dropped off the map with peewee a long time ago is it stopped being fun when people started getting so super srs about making and winning gold.

That's why I've stated that peewee became regular lite when it when to the gold/silver/copper shit. Back in the day you could try out some crazy shit and if it didn't work there was always next season to win your league. Now it's fight to get to gold and stay in gold. Not so much now that peewee's dead, but that greatly led to it's demise.
