It's Plateau Day for most of the players on Sainte-Foy; I believe Axis: Serenity, GD: Chicago Outfit, and Omertá † also have some players of the same vintage. And now is as good a time as any for...

Three things CDZYO got very, very wrong in his much-too-early look at the Eastern Conference
1. Saskatoon probably will make the playoffs again
I had them missing the cut due to being on the wrong end of a tiebreaker, and frankly that could still happen. But starting with their interconference win over WL alum KC PLAYMAKERS, followed by wins over (my) preseason favorite Fredericton and Thunder Bay, they not only have sole possession of first place, they're also running out of games to lose. I don't expect them to hang on to the top spot, but I no longer expect them to miss the postseason.

2. Thunder Bay isn't done yet
I said the Wolverines had "been passed by" and wouldn't improve on their previous four-win season. At five wins -- including their defensive clinic on (my) preseason favorite Amsterdam -- they've already proved me wrong on two counts. It's too early to say they're playoff-bound, but I like jallowe's theory regarding their sudden improvement.

3. New Omertá † isn't as good as Omertá † Classic
Oh, Omertá †. With only one signature win (thanks to Chicago's confounding inability to cover your TEs) to offset a series of spectacular failures, I can't peg you as a playoff team this season. If this really is your "top team" now, I fear for your network. Is it too late to bring the old team back?

Omertá † is now our top team, which takes over from the team of the same name. It was a merge with DIO.

East is just a bloodbath, maybe it's not the best pro conference, but you could certainly make a case for it being the most evenly matched

We're four games from the end of the season and I can't even draw up possible playoff scenarios because we're still doing the rock-paper-scissors thing. Amsterdam is 10-2 and hasn't clinched; Omertá † is 6-6 and hasn't been eliminated.

I may need to go back and look...but who were your preseason favorites...Fredericton or Amsterdam??

I had Amsterdam at #1 and Fredericton at #2... really, #1A and #1B. http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4895606&page=3#45402807

(...and congratulations on the Egos' season so far.)

Hardly would consider us passed by. Played most the top teams tough and beat three of your originally picked top 6 with the same offense in every game.. As of now only two games separate us from the number one seed.

Might be a good time to change the offense up some as you have 2 tough games left and lost the head to head against the Silverbacks and QCBC.

Full disclosure: I poked because SFN needs Thunder Bay to show up for the Fredericton game. We can't catch them if they finish 13-3.

If we get shut down today there will be no excuses and I will concede that we have been passed by. .

We will try to get that win for you today too
