It's Plateau Day for most of the players on Sainte-Foy; I believe Axis: Serenity, GD: Chicago Outfit, and Omertá † also have some players of the same vintage. And now is as good a time as any for...
Three things CDZYO got very, very wrong in his much-too-early look at the Eastern Conference
1. Saskatoon probably will make the playoffs again
I had them missing the cut due to being on the wrong end of a tiebreaker, and frankly that could still happen. But starting with their interconference win over WL alum KC PLAYMAKERS, followed by wins over (my) preseason favorite Fredericton and Thunder Bay, they not only have sole possession of first place, they're also running out of games to lose. I don't expect them to hang on to the top spot, but I no longer expect them to miss the postseason.
2. Thunder Bay isn't done yet
I said the Wolverines had "been passed by" and wouldn't improve on their previous four-win season. At five wins -- including their defensive clinic on (my) preseason favorite Amsterdam -- they've already proved me wrong on two counts. It's too early to say they're playoff-bound, but I like jallowe's theory regarding their sudden improvement.
3. New Omertá † isn't as good as Omertá † Classic
Oh, Omertá †. With only one signature win (thanks to Chicago's confounding inability to cover your TEs) to offset a series of spectacular failures, I can't peg you as a playoff team this season. If this really is your "top team" now, I fear for your network. Is it too late to bring the old team back?
