I never like MVP stuff because it's exemplifies one player even though it took more than just that one player to make him good. I think S25 for him is a prime example of that.

Either way, not a knock on your dot, but a knock on the MVP system....Good job winning it this season though! Congrats.

100% agreed.

Awards have always been shit in this game because they just don't tell the whole story.

I would argue that the same is the case in the NFL in terms of Pro Bowl voting (didn't watch it for yet another year) and other awards. What Bort has created is no more flawed than media idiots voting an MVP based on their latest man-crush.

You're exactly right Otega, but if GLB did have a pure awards system that did reflect the whole story, it wouldn't be very realistic when compared to the NFL!

Ya, but he was the man last season and his stats DID tell the whole story.

This is so unfair! We lost to a team that has1252 EL while we have 1249! It's obviously not due to gameplanning; mine was far superior in every way, but they won just because of that difference of 3! They cheated! I'm the better OC! That 3 kept us from scoring to respond in the 4th quarter to take back our lead! It has nothing to do with Marblehead's coordinators, the RNG just looks at that 3 and says "they will win, period".

^sarcasm, for those who can't tell

Said it briefly elsewhere, but I'll say it here too: Good Game and Good Luck Marblehead. Lots of breaks happened in that game on both sides, but we couldn't respond with a score in the end. Fun game to watch, even if the outcome sucks for us.

But thats the nature of MVPs, Stardom and the Hall of Fame for that matter.

Put Emmit Smith on the Eagles of the same generation and no one knows his name today.

But on those cowgirls he had lanes 3 yards wide to rumble through and that made all the difference to his success.

To yello's example, what gets me is that often it is stellar o-line play such as a guard that completely and consistently dominates that makes that HB look so good. We all know this at least on some level. I can't stand that an otherwise average athelete (by NFL standards) can become a star HB and be remembered for so long, when he performed well because his job was made easy by the steller play of someone that most people can no longer remember.

I'd bet you that about half of the people on GLB couldn't name all the starting players on the O-line of their favorite team without having to look at least one of them up. That's a cryin' shame IMO. It takes as much skill and more strength and brains to play those positions well than HB.

Yeah its true. I couldn't tell you more than maybe one or two names of O line men on the iggles now. Only a couple ever and two of them are celebrities (Mike Golic of ESPN Radio and Congressman LOL John Runyan both were O linemen on the Eagles in their day).

And yes Bug, I concur.
