4th & 0.5, offense has a 3-point lead, defense is out of timeouts, and there's 0:56 left. If you get that half-a-yard, you win the game. If you punt, your opponent gets the ball back with decent field position and at least 0:45 seconds left on the clock, and in this sim, anything can happen in that situation.

You ABSOLUTELY go for it there. No question in my mind. 95% of the time, you're going to get that half-yard if your offense is any good at all.

I've won a few games specifically BECAUSE I went for it in that situation, and only lost 1 game from failing to convert. I've also won a few games because our opponent was in that same situation and punted... which gave us one last chance to win the game.

Now, if this were the NFL, I'd probably think differently... a half-yard is ridiculously difficult to pick up in that situation in real-life football.

But this ain't football.

THIS. IS. DOTBALL. You have to know what game you're playing. And in dotball, half-a-yard ain't hard to get at all. For every 1 time you fail and get burned, there will be 19 times you pick it up and seal the game.

At first i thought it was a bad call but i realized we had 0 TOs so that was a good call in my mind and an even better one to have that guy blitzing up the gut

My QB has made a career on the MOST DIFFICULT PASS AVAILABLE. He never fails to find trips and try and gun it in there. Luckily he succeeds most of the time.
