Silver wasn't stagnant because rivalries didn't exist. Silver was stagnant because Gold should turnover the same way WL does. Playoff teams stay in Gold, non-playoff teams go to Silver.

Instead of fixing the problem, he is creating a new one.

Clearly throwing teams who barley make silver playoffs in to gold is a better idea than what he had...

They also have 100+-0 blowouts all the time in WL, whereas the GL promotion system has clearly provided an intense level of competition.

Although, your idea with the promotion/demotion would apply well at the silver/copper levels... just not gold.

That has less to do with the promotion system than it does the giant talent-gaps of GLB at the upper levels (and why I stopped playing/coaching up there). You'll have more competition in PW gold than WL b/c we're on more even footing.

To be honest... that really already is the system we have, you're only talking about getting rid of 1-2 more gold teams a season, which the dropout rate of teams has taken care of recently...

the problem isn't the gold league its the copper and silver leagues....

1 being their are obviously too many silver leagues
2 is being that currently the rivalry point system has all the good teams cornered into the same conference
3 upcoming 3-13, 4-12 copper teams just aren't making the cut in silver

No... 16 teams drop from Gold.
16 teams come up from Silver, the winner of each conference.

That's how the WL does it.

But don't compare the balance of the game in the WL to Pee Wee. Just because someone is winning in the WL doesn't mean they don't have right promotion structure. Those could still be the 32 best teams, just the disparity between number one and number two is very high.

I honestly believe that 1 is the cause of 2 and 3 and that it could easily be all better next season.

How many teams get promoted from copper to silver every season? Are there really enough from each conference of each leagues that rivalry makes sense?

Putting Casual teams in the copper side conferences is based on rivalry?

Pretty much every team that re-news moves from copper to silver.

Forgot to mention if more then 8 teams from Gold(WL) get demoted the runners up(2yr copper/AAA) in the conference championship games are chosen to move up.

Only POSSIBLY could this happen maybe once or twice every other season.... stop overreacting, as this same thing happened this season with the Hartford Shock with the old system.

I'll just have to disagree, and as Bort said it is working in the minors leagues, so the concept easily could apply, I actually agree now that a minor team is no more likely to be good in their first few seasons than a pee wee team, so whats the difference? It should work fine, the only difference being pee-wee is a bit more competitive, so this will likely just lead to a high drop out rate, but I still say we need to give it a chance, because change was OBVIOUSLY in order.

This is exactly why things are getting messed up. Stop questioning everyone, especially some that has been here basically forever like TT.

1. It'll happen more than 1-2 a season. You figure that at least 1-2 will pull of a miracle upset, so at that point you only get 1-2 going up. However, the way things are going, if a few teams drop out of Gold, more than likely 50% of the teams brought up will be the shitty teams in the Silver Final. If Bort does away with letting teams pick who replaces them, then we'll be in even deeper trouble. And hop off Hartford man. Everything as come back to them with you.

2. Exactly as TT said, this is nowhere near Minors. The competition will decrease if anything. You'll have 1 bracket that has consist tough competition ala Gold while another whole conference will have 3 copper teams promoted playing against 13 CPUs with 1 team getting their ass handed to them in the finals. How did you even figure that this idea would increase competition? If anything, I know I would have spot in Gold if I win my CC now. Lastly, change was in-order, however not like this. Such a drastic change is not good at this late of a notice. If he would've posted a poll mid-season asking US, the cash cow for this site, then he would've realized that A. This is a terrible idea, and B. He needs to come directly to here to help get ideas, since we are the diehard PW fans.

BORT did this on purpose!

Think about it, now we're complaining about this instead of paying too much for flex.
