All is I know is FT finally is going to gold this season, and I'm off-the-charts proud of these guys....

I think you can take 24 teams in gold and that right there is the top 24, then the rest of the leagues. Even the worst teams in Gold are most of the time better than your silver teams, not the great silver teams but the average teams.

I think you're pretty close. With the exception of Maine and maybe 1 or 2 others (but that would be pusing it), I'd say there are very few others that would be towards the top.

But I think 24 is a bit high. This year I think the number is closer to 20.

Probably somewhere in between 20 and 24. I wouldn't bet against any of the Gold teams IF they took the scrim seriously and game planned for it. That makes a huge difference.

People still plan for games? I thought you just had to have the right SAs?

No, no, no. You have it all wrong. It is only the SA's when your team loses. If your team wins it is because of all the game planning you did. Understand?

TT, this has been your best season posting by far!!! If I had a trophy to give, I'd give you one for the shelf.

We need to start an old fashioned "your mamma" thread.

Out of the Silver teams we played this season, going into the game Outer Banks Booty Tappers made me the most nervous to game plan for. I never expected McCollums team to beat us in the Conference game .. I think he used witchcraft or something to take all morale away from my guys.

And yeah this matrix rating is just something to look at and flame over. About the only real useful stat in the rating that I give any credence to is the vT25. I think that has some worth.

If you believe that the T25 are actually the T25.... Script picks a top 25, then checks how teams did versus the top 25 to verify the script. :coocoo:

There just isn't enough interplay between the teams to get a good ranking of them without making some a priori assumptions on how good teams are to start the season or based on what league they're in, and this script doesn't do that. I mainly include the vTop50 and vTop25 fields for some perspective on how tough their schedule is - NCAA does the same with RPI; they also look at vs top 50 RPI and Top 100 etc. It lets you see things like "yeah this team is ranked highly but they're 0-0 against top 25 or 0-2 against top 25, I wouldn't rank them as a top 25 team".

I actually originally started doing this for the pros as an informational piece for the human pollsters, but after WL the human polls all died off. Plus, team number #79 never gets a chance to see how well they stack up against anyone else anyways, so this can be fun. It was worth at least trying against the pee-wees, but unless there's going to be a lot more ranked scrims in the future, it'll probably never be much better than this.

I think I speak for the group in saying that we appreciate it and the discussion is not imply that are not thankful for the script.

Hopefully, everyone here understands you are limited to the data you have.

The vT25/vT50 was very helpful in judging my team's success against other teams above and below mine.
