GLB Gold League Season 15
Total Punts - 1481
Punt Return TDs -102
Punt Return TDs/Total Punts - 6.9%
Total Kickoffs- 1189
Kickoff Return TDs - 34
Kickoff Return TDs/Total Kickoffs - 2.9%

NFL 2009 Regular Season
Total Punts - 1013
Punt Return TDs - 10
Punt Return TDs/Total Punts - 1.0%
Total Kickoffs - 2004
Kickoff Return TDs - 20
Kickoff Return TDs/Total Kickoffs - 1.0%

Conclusion: I would expect the GLB stats to be slightly raised, when also considering the VERY similar Return averages for both punts and kickoffs (whereas the starting field position is way off, as is to be expected because it is "Pee Wee" not World League.), but come to find out they aren't even as raised as I believed them to be before...

To be perfectly honest I'm more than happy with a 4-5% raised Return touchdown percent, just to add a bit more excitement... considering the monotonous nature of watching the same plays face the same defenses all game...

Also, I genuinely believe that Return touchdowns greatly slow down as the season progresses, so I think another run of this comparison at the end of the season would reveal even closer results.

Except when you get games like this:

28 pts scored in less than one minute.

Outliars are even included in my data, so yes.. it does include those...

I consider the fact that some teams give up multiple TDs in one game sort of aids my argument, in that it is likely because of well placed (whether intentionally or not) matchups of one team VS another, not a result of a failure in the sim, nor any kind of pure "luck" factor ...

God forbid a team win a game off special teams, at least 10% of the total plays in most games...

7 punt return TDs in the first half of that game. Granted, it wasn't a particularly competitive game, but come on.

I sort of agree...but it's never been THIS bad...it's more than just coaching.

following our +18 points win over MAINE ( including 2 punt returns and one kick off return for TDs) I have written to BORT asking him to penalise KR/PR with a 50% penalty on speed for returns.

maybe that would create a more realistic game - and stop the inbalance.

It is not right to win or lose on a play(s) like that!!!

Sometimes against weaker teams you have to put a "fatty" in at PR just to give your offense play time!!!
If you have 4 pre-season games v weak opponents, then you MUST have the "fatty" in or you have so few offense plays , you can't tell what BORT has changed/fixed in off season.

Something needs to be done.
