Problem with that is you have to keep a defense honest. If you go 100 percent passing the WRs, Tes etc would be doubled all the time because you know they are passing. Too many games would come down to an overtime game or close to it. This was the defense can't stack against the receivers. You have to defend all areas of the field or your fucked. The rushing game serves its purpose in the game IMO

I don't agree with this. I think this would make the game more interesting actually.

I would love to do the air attack, but I'm to lazy to go and set 40+ players tactics before and after the game to switch them to passing focus.

Some of them already are, but a lot more of them would need to be.

Also I'd have to set up a whole DAI and OAI just for one tournament. I'm happy using my current OAI and DAI and just tweaking them by adding plays and subtracting plays from the packages, messing with %s, etc.

I'm not going to enter any tournaments that require a lot of work until I'm no longer building a ton of dots.

Maybe Season 21? :-)

Not sure why people think the Air Attack is hard to setup for. I've had the same Air Attack Defense and Offense that I've used for the past few seasons and it's wicked easy to just switch between them, make a few edits based on how this years sim is going and you're on your way. It's not that hard to game plan, here's a hint. the opponent will pass... A LOT. And play a lot of double coverage defense.

I won last season and we didnt switch anyone to passing EQ or tactics. We just passed more than most teams normally do.

If we have enough interest I would like to create a "BEST of the BEST" Invitational Tournament.

Teams that survive in their respective leagues regular season without a loss will be invited to compete to earn the title of Best of the Best. I'm currently in the process of bringing this all together with 1000 Flex Points and a very nice Trophy for the Team Owner.

Open for discussion:
Should this be limited to Gold and Silver Only.
Schedule - Games will have to be aggressively scheduled.

Cheers

Both of those 2 tournaments are based on what you did the season before. We all know some seasons are not as good as others, so why not have a tournament to determine the BEST for that season. There can be no doubt, the winner of this tournament can truly claim that they competed against and won over the most competitive field that season had to offer. This is something unique that no other tourny can offer. This could be the most difficult tourny to win.

Problem is you won't know who is undefeated until roughly Day 30/31 and would have to orchestrate this entire tournament in 8/9 days. There would be 32 1st place teams in Silver alone (16 leagues x 2 conferences) + any Gold teams you would invite making it impossible to have ALL these teams in a tournament based on the time available. I ran a mid-season classic/invite about 4-5 seasons ago where I did something similar to this based on who was undefeated at the mid-season point and invited only 8-0 and 7-1 teams. It was a cool tournament and is still a cool idea but tough to pull off under the guidelines you want to run it in. The other issue would be getting all these teams (especially Gold teams) to commit to this during the playoffs when they are more focused on other games and wrapping up pre-existing season long tournies.

But hey.. if you can figure out a way to make it happen, more power to you.

Silver is down to 8 leagues now so at the most would be 16 Silver + 2 Gold. At minimum would be a 4 round tourny, I don't know if there would be time to get it in.

Too hard imo. I would like to see it happen, but I don't know how it would be possible. The major problem being the fact that you can't schedule a game for the next day. Maybe only 8 teams, 3 rounds? Still need to be on top of the scheduling though.

You could have a fixed schedule with automatic disqualifications if you don't schedule your team's game.

On day 32, the last regular season game will be scheduled. The first round of this tournament would have to happen on day 34, no excuses. Round 2 on day 36. Round 3 38, and round 4 day 40. All games must be scheduled at the latest available spot on the tournament day unless both teams agree otherwise.

For disqualification purposes, you could make the rule that whichever team receives the challenge is disqualified if they do not accept (unless there's something wrong with the challenge request, like it's for a private scrim or not playoff-OT).

It would mean whoever is running the tournament would have to have the bracket done and available immediately after the last game is played on day 32. It would also take a commitment from the teams involved to make sure they didn't miss a challenge (because any game happening even 1 day late would prevent a 4-round tournament from happening), but you could do it.

Fortunately, my team has already picked up a loss this season so I don't have to worry about this tourney.
