I said it at the start. I gotta stick to the initial outline as best as possible. I'll make adjustments for next season.

Any reason there are two byes in the 1st round and Lunch Box isn't in the bracket? Not everyone gets a second chance I guess...

Ok Here's what we will do to attempt to balance out the seeding as best as possible. Mike Tyson's Pet Tiger's will drop down and take the bottom seed (thanks Muddy for offering) and play The Insane Asylum. Lunch Box will be entered in at the 11th Seed.

Well had they done the original 128 team tournament like last season, the loser would have been a Category 7. But with it only being a 64 team, there are currently no tourneys that make a round 7.

The Pee Wee Cup was much more difficult then the 128 team tourney. We played the following in our road to the Finals:

Dharma Initiatives
Crackertown Juniors
Springfield Test Dummies
New Orleans Pee Wees
Short Bus Window Lickers
Maine Grenadiers
Deep Throw It
7 Games

Deep Throw It played:
New Orleans Pee Wees
Montpellier Wildcats
San Antonio Saviours
Springfield Test Dummies
Baltimore Gulls
Fighting Gamecocks
Mississippi Mud Dogs

In contrast.. last season's winner (SBWL) played:
SoCal Probation
Red Storm
Outer Banks Bootie Trappers
Atlantic City Surf
Montpellier Wildcats
Fighting Gamecocks
Chicago 85' Bears

The first 2 rounds in the old format are 91% of the time give me games for Gold teams and then in Round 3 sometimes you get a solid silver team and then the tourney starts in Rd 4 for most of the finalist. Both ended up with 7 games played as well. Just some food for thought.

Totally agree. In the current format for this tourney, it has the Final 8 of the Official Pool equivalent to the Final 8 of FTW tourney. They're really not equal.

**This is NOT a whining thread. If done subjectively, I would EASILY rate IA over FT. And in all honesty there really isn't a difference between the 2nd & 3rd seed this year.**

I'm just mentioning it for future seasons to avoid somebody who would whine from doing so. My rationale is that even in a tougher tourney like the FTW tourney you can often get 2-3 very winnable games. You typically have to win at least 2 games to find a team of the same quality that you would find in the Official Pool Play, let alone advance out of the Pool and then win a game.

To advance out of the pool you have to beat 2 very good teams. In contrast:
FTW - There were a few outliers, but most teams didn't face their 2nd tough opponent until the Final 4
Silver - I'd say with the exception of Outer Banks, the other teams wouldn't have played 2 tough opponents until the championship match
DE - There were really only 3-4 top teams in the whole tourney, so pretty far here
Halo - That was actually a very tough bracket, a lot of teams had a tough game in the 1st round
Copper - I honestly don't know, but I know there are at least 2 tough teams in the tourney
CvsS - 2nd tough game was in the championship

Yeah, I'm pretty sure next year I will do a seeding some how based on # of wins in a tourney. Or even TOTAL # of wins in ALL tourneys. That would really help seed the best loser. If someone could say, Look I won 23 tourney games and never a championship, I think they should be seeded as the highest loser.

I'm a little confused with the bracket. It says MMD has a bye, grimey has mentioned that MTPTiger is supposed to play MMD, but then above you stated that Mike Tyson's PT is supposed to play TIA...

And thanks for basically saying above that MMD is the "highest loser"... that hurts

You do have a bye. MTPT will drop down and play the 2 seed which was TIA because

Insane Asylum
Final Thought

have the same number of letters, but Insane Asylum looks longer.

But I guess I should have used THE Insane Asylum so in fact that would be the 2 seed just based on length.
