It's hard to appreciate what JJ did throughout his career because so much of it was fueled by the weight bug (he obviously has a good build to get MVP after the weight fix though).

Back in the day it was all about David Amazing/Julius Dee/TJ King before the horrible name change though. PPP's the only one of those three to either survive the nerfs (Julius Dee) or just keep playing in general (David Amazing).

MVP in the top league 3 seasons running.

You want to be the best in the game, you win things like MVP in the top league.

That's just how it is.

It's pretty easy to win an MVP when there's a DB glitch causing your dot to play better than he is.

Thank goodness that was over 1 1/2 seasons ago, and he went ahead and won the trophy 2x anyway.

He won last season legit, he won the season before over Denver LastDinosaur because of a few games where he got repeated sacks on the same screen play and living off of early season success with the weight issues.

I'm just saying that he obviously has a very good build but fixing the weight bug changed his DE from completely dominant to very good.

weight glitch, plain and simple

It was pretty obvious watching pbp both before and after it got fixed - JJ was superhuman and isn't anymore. Not really fair to compare non-glitch dots to his. Personally, I thought PPP got better after the glitch was fixed, although I could have been imagining it. At any rate, clearly not worse.

PPP is def good, but JJ is the best DE in GLB history.

D MVP 3 years running in the game's best league (including his USAPL stint).

And MEMs never really run the crazy blitzes like others have.

JJ certainly can make a case for best DE also, but he played against very weak competition early in his career. He might have been the best DE for Seasons 10-11. But not last season:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=897107

Here is how some of the great ones compared last season in a heads up game:

Mekong - 24 passing plays called
Evil Monkeys - 24 passing plays called

PPP - 26 snaps played, 5 sacks, 3 hurries, 5 tackles
Gaines Adams - 19 snaps, 2 sacks, 3 hurries, 1 TFL, 1 FF

JJ - 65 snaps, 0 sacks, 0 hurries, 1 tackle, 1 missed tackle, 1 TFL, pancaked 3 times
People's Elbow - 51 snaps, 0 sacks, 0 hurries, 0 tackles

Granted neither MEM or Mekong game planned for this game much as it was a last minute game, but the simple DE/OT interactions clearly showed the better players in my opinion.

I would even rank Gaines Adams up there in the top 5 DEs in the game. He was dominant his whole career also and did it in the World League with no blitzes on the Huskies. I'd have to research a good bit early in some player's careers to see who else would put in the top 5 with Gaines and PPP and JJ.

so they set their O-linemen to allow sacks in that one game and not any of the other scrimmages or regular season games?

I see. you always have excuses when you lose to me, why doesn't it surprise me when you make excuses for others?
