I didn't claim it was mine, I said that I had a VERSION of the no roll that I think works. Big difference. I claim to have an idea about how the world was created, doesn't mean that I created the world. :-)

No. He would simply threaten to turn Bort into a carrot if he didn't fix the sim. :-)

and fwiw, you should be able to pick exactly what height and weight you want.

would it mean more cookie-cutter builds? possibly. but anything else just either begs for another reroll script, or, even worse, a retirement and starting over until you get what you want. different combinations should have different advantages. ( the taller you are, the heavier you can be... stuff like that)

Maybe Bort should actually spell out EXACTLY what height and weight do because if there is an advantage to being short and light versus tall and light versus short and heavy versus tall and heavy I'd like to know BEFORE I create my player.

Spell it out for us like the mouseover bubbles for speed and such when assigning skill points.

Wow terribad idea guys , nothing wrong with rolling players. The servers be damned buy a stand alone for one days grief if it's that big an issue. In my mind it's not , I like being able to not only roll for my stats but height/weight I'd like my money to be spent on.

This is a player creation game , take away the creating and it's pretty much nothing left.

Before you make an uneducated comment like that, think first. A. This would help the server as a WHOLE, not just the one day. Sure it'd help it run smoother, but the server is slowed down majorly because of the rolling process that is currently in place.
B. The current system sucks. It's random and is a waste of time. C. We're still creating our damn players. We're just using a different method that allows us to create cookie cutter type builds and customize things the way we want with more freedom.

In all, I can't see anything BAD about this. Helps the server, helps get the cookie cutter builds rather than waste an hour or 7 rolling, and we're still creating players just with a new method.

ok but you are forgetting on the fact that Bort has already agreed to do once he figures out the height weight thing, it is even on the change log as a project.

if you don't like it, I don't know how you can get him to change his mind.

That's the way you feel about it but not me , education and thinking has nothing at all to do with it. I don't need Bort to take yet another thing away from me that attracted me to the game , especially since the game is billed as a player creation game. The server issue is HIS issue and should be addressed by him not a bunch of people trying to sway things imo.

I'm pretty sure there are ways to fix this besides changing how to roll a player. And sorry Rob this thread did ask for solutions but I just couldn't pass it up. Probably because of my lack of education. I'll just read and have fun guys.
