Not sure how you can deny that he is a scat RB, he led the West in receiving yards last season. MJD was used as a scat RB in S9.

I didn't say it was bad. I just FYP. A scat back is a HB that ONLY is used to catch passes out of the back field. Earl has proven to do more than that. I don't see how that's hard to understand.

MJD isn't a pure rusher....Earl isn't a pure scat back..both have the ability to do more than what you see from game to game. It's been proven. Geez....you fix someone's post and they start throwing out stats and awards and championships... compensating much?

Actually, he said you need a MJD type HB. Hence the reason why he said you need the first to win a championship...go back and read the first sentence after his comparison. It's right there. I can't believe you missed that.

If he's stating that you need the first to win a championship then why doesn't he had one. And why does Earl if he doesn't have what it takes? Period? Because the way he put it...you HAVE to have #1 to win a championship. Apparently, Earl doesn't have #1. Which is why he put earl in the second category. Did you miss that?

Let's review shall we...

Honestly this debate is stupid. Comparing the two doesn't work.

MJD = fewer big plays but also few "failed" plays.

Earl = big play threat that often gets stuffed for nothing.

Every offense needs the first, if you don't have it you will not win a championship. Vice versa most offenses need the second as well. The trick is balancing them.

His words....not mine.

You're actually incorrect. A scatback is not a runner who is only used as a receiver. It's a fast, elusive runner that has specialized receiving skills. Yea, I'm compensating for another damn year without getting back to the Bort Bowl(for MM not me), where is Cappy to yell at McBriar when we need him.

I was mistaken, I thought he said Vice Versa offenses need... instead of saying most offenses need and MM does have one which is why they're going to win the Bort Bowl this season.

Well, I think Street and WW will have something to say about that.

They can talk all they want, when it comes down to it...WW finds some way to lose every season in the playoffs.(waits for Islander, Packman, Sik and Kr0n to come after me)

Wow, I might as well quit posting anything that could possibly pertain to Nashville due to horrendous reading. No where did I state who has and who doesn't have those types of players. Frankly I don't know your offense well enough to tell if you have a Mr. Consistency...maybe it is at QB, or your other HB, maybe a WR.

My statement was it is very difficult for a team to win a championship relying on a hit or miss player only. Maybe someone could get lucky and have 8 hit or miss offensive players and end up winning it all, but that is tough to do.

Everyone needs a Mr. Consistency, and MOST need the counter of the hit or miss. I personally think the second is almost a necessity but I know there are teams that have won without one.

MM has both, it just so happens that for us a consistent guy ends up being the top on our list. Nashville likely has both as well, it just so happens their star is the big play guy.

IDK if they'll accept it but Pain knows me and him are cool...it's the truth though. Going back to S7 AAA, I took over an OTR team that was trying their best to make the playoffs...we pulled off an incredible streak at the end of the reg season then beat the Gurupies round 1 and beat the Wolfpack, who were undefeated and dominating the league in round 2. The Wolfpack were promoted and have since dominated the regular season and lost in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs every season. I guess Bort hates them.

Don't underestimate that last part. You know when games go past their sim time into the negative? That's the hand from above manual override.

Bort certainly hates the West. A team I GM has gone to 5 straight Bort Bowls and lost all 5, 3 of the 5 losses are in OT.

Hm...jrry's luck = getting to the big game when a GM but not winning

Thus, ride that luck + remove as GM before the game = win

We lost cuz we didn't kick like a 35 yd FG at the end. To this day, it's Islander's greatest blunder .

And also this topic needs more Partlow imo.
