Scounting bars amount to two things up here:

1) Jack

2) Shit.

They're all pretty equal. One of the historically better pro teams (that went World League), So Cal BDC, often had the worst scouting bars in the league. There's a reason most refer to them as lolbars. All they reflect is how many points you spammed in primary attributes, whether or not they helped the build.

Sure, you can have 3 higher blocking, or have a couple of dark green bars where we only have light green due to not having our roster 100% filled out ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=981&team2=5559 ) but that doesn't mean anything once games start playing. Teams are all really even here -- it is going to come down to ability to gameplan and adapt to the Pro League. Not to mention, bars are manipulable. I can turn Samoa's rushing bar from dark green to light green at will, for example.

Fun fact: Last season, 3 of the new promotions made it to the playoffs, at the 4 7 and 8 seeds. And that's only because two of the perennial playoff contenders gutted at the start of the season (Sun Devils) or Mid Season (Nites). Had that not happened, I'd be willing to bet that the gunners would have been the only one making the playoffs of the new teams.

With that said, good luck to the new guys up here. While Zeta has lost some of what had it called a meat grinder the past few seasons, it is still a pretty tough league with very few, if any, 'free wins'. My post isn't saying you guys are a bad team either -- just don't look at the bars, assume yours are better, and draw from that that you guys should be ranked higher.

I'm not whining to become "ranked" higher because in all seriousness, i couldn't really care any less what you outsiders think about our place in this league. I'm merely asking what goes into deciding who is ranked where. Period. Or am i not allowed to do so?

How bout this, it will all be sorted out between weeks 1 and 16 Bring your A game, because I can tell you the teams listed as the top 5 won't be going down without a significant fight and the best gameplans you can muster. All the talent up here should be about the same, now let's see what you can do with it.

I for one look forward to another very competitive season in OPL Zeta and welcome all the new teams to the mix and hope we see some fresh faces up here whooping some ass and giving us older dogs a challenge.

That being said....the Tigers have upgraded and we are ready for a run at the Championship. Bring it on bitches !!

I think most of us that throw out some rankings do it just based on quick impressions of the teams. Some combination of scouting bars, levels, history, chemistry, and "other."

You're more than allowed. Doesn't mean I'm not going to respond. But, then again, it should have been obvious that the rankings weren't based on scouting bars due to your placement

I wasn't trying to be confrontational, but too many guys have come up here thinking high scout bars would make them into the next great team...only to go 8-8 and miss the playoffs.

Like I said earlier, good luck this season. You guys don't seem bad at all -- heck, you've gone after a couple of my players at some point. So you've got SOMETHING going for you there
