How does it harm your team? Please tell me how. The only thing I can think of is the whole...

"I faced them when they were a team and lost, and so-and-so faced them after gutting and won, now I'm out of the playoffs."

Titans last year.

If they're moving the players, but moving them all to different teams (not sending 5 players to the same team), then that is their right. They want to keep playing, but not as an owner, and want the chance to decide where THEIR players go.

Edit: By moving I mean releasing them, and signing them elsewhere. Nothing with trades.

The problem here dude is all the players that get shit on in the process. If you are ruining the game for others "it" should not be allowed...just like other sport sims. All you are thinking about is the owner and his players.

and look in one minute you thought of a way it could harm my team.... I bet you can think of more...and if my team not making the playoffs after I spend a bunch of real money on the game due to some guys shananigans isn't enough for ya- I give up.

I'm done commenting on cheaters and cheating. I'm wasting my time.
If GLB fixes it great. If not I won't pay or play - simple.
Good luck in your games tomorrow gentlemen.

And you're only thinking of yourself. The only players possibly being shit on in this process are players left on the team after it is gutted, which I agree is horrible. They should have the right to be released.

My one example is the ONLY thing that could be bitched about, and even then it's a pretty stupid argument.

So who gets to decide who gets the better treatment?
Because by forcing an owner to stay in a league they don't want to be in is unfair to them.

And if the reason you claim it could hurt your team is because they play the Daggers in the last game of the season holds no weight. Because the Daggers would have beat them anyways

Know what I would love to see? If the people who complain how it hurts the league because it may screw up playoffs and yadda yadda.

Take all those people, and have them donate a player or two to the team that got gutted. You guys want everything fair right? Pitch in and help!

Back to the origin of this thread....

This team has great leadership and agent experience, so although it will be tough for most of this and next season, we are well on our way to bringing this team back from the dead...

Does anyone... ANYONE have a reason NOT to enforce the rule of "Do not act in a way that NO general manager in real life would act"?

And here's a solution- you cannot release any of your top 5 players, level-wise. Because there's absolutely no reason to do so. Even if the player was somehow refusing to play for your team, then you have to trade him. Because NO manager would just release his best players.

Players do NOT have the right to demand a release because of a coaching change.

Let them retire their players then.... moving them to another team is not retirement.

^ Exactly. I have no problem with this. A player should have the option of retiring with no strings attached, other than not being able to bring the character out of retirement.

As for how this should be handled. A firesale of this proportion simply does not happen in real life. As a GM or owner, you always want to get some value out of a proposition. You don't give stuff away for free. Even if the owner is moving on, he wants a clean legacy.

There are rare occasions where great players with big contracts "take their ball and go home" in a season. Randy Moss is a great example, but the Raiders still got SOMETHING, a 4th round pick...and in the eyes of everyone except Al Davis, a senile old coot, it was a travesty letting Moss get what he wanted.

This is a travesty in the scope of the game. Who cares, it's just a game, right? People pay to have fun, right? I paid to have fun too, and letting crooked deals go forward spoils the fun.

IMO, a breach of contract deserves a penalty. Any player that runs from a commitment should either lose a couple of levels (perhaps scaling current level) or maybe it should cost a signficant number of flex points. Another thing that needs to be implemented is a waiver wire. These players shouldn't end up in the FA pool right away, and other teams should be able to exercise an option on them based on a priority system.

I don't want to get into another argument.

The fact is that xuchal did the right thing by releasing his players before he sold the team... the players have the right to find a good owner. Chances are that some new owner is going to buy the team and send it to the doldrums for awhile, and I don't know if the players want to be a part of that.

I don't see how this is cheating. It's a noble act by a former owner to keep players from being forced to not enjoy the game for awhile.

DD and Bort are probably not going to change it. The team gutting for the sake of team gutting sucks, but quitting on the game is allowed, and xuchal definitely did the right thing. The fact is, if xuchal left his players on the team, the players would be the ones complaining.

Either way, someone isn't happy.

This isn't the NFL. This is a game. Leaving the players on the team means they're not going to enjoy it. If a newbie owner buys the team, then what?

I will tell you this: If I ever sold the Silverymoon Elves (and hopefully that won't be for 10+ seasons), I would release every single player on the team beforehand. I'm not betraying a bunch of guys who came to play for us (assuming myself and Serenity) and screwing them over.

I won't touch the money on the team, but I'd let the players go.

So basically what everyone is saying, is that if someone no longer wants to play in USA pro with their players, we should make them do it anyways?

Hell yes.

LOL!

So I guess GLB takes priority over real life.

I thought you didnt want to get in the middle of an argument, lol.

But you made the right point. He was trying to help his players. Whatever anyone thinks of the situation, do not question motives.
