However, Arkansas was in in the SWC

i left Arkansas off the list on purpose since they have not competed in SWC since 92.

OU and OkSt were in, but only between 1915 and 1925 lol.....caught me slippin.....this only further illustrates my point though so thanks.

Need I bring up the comparisons between the sips going into the Big XII and the Ags going into the SEC again?

The Aggie part is totally justified. However, TENNESSEE has a long history of excellence.

The Ags could claim 4 national titles if we claimed ones like Tennessee does. The Ags have more Conference Championships.

Former Aggie football player, of course.

you cant argue this. we have already established that the SEC is than any conference that Aggie has been a part of

on a side note, Aggie turns out some pretty decent Army officers. second only to West Point in my experience.

It wasn't a slight on Tennessee, just defending the comparative jab from KoB.

Arkansas should definitely be included in the SWC talks. The program was a charter member of the Southwest Conference (SWC) in 1915 and remained in that conference until departing for the SEC in 1991. The Razorbacks won the SWC thirteen times and the 1964 National Championship. They lost to Texas (14-15) in 1969 in what was billed at the time as the Game of The Century.

Tennessee is right next to Texas in all categories and have done this against far superior competition. Geez. You college football newbs kill me

You could say the same thing about ND, Miami, FSU, etc, but none of those teams (with maybe the exception of FSU) are very relevant right now. Even so, they have been relevant more recently than Tenn has been. Tenn might have a rich history, but at this point they, just like the aggies, have to resort to conference smack because they can't depend on their own team's recent success.

I guess so. I the Big 12 we have real rivalries and would never root for our rivals. I guess the level of hate in the SEC just isn't all that high. Feel free to continue riding on Bama and LSU's success while Tenn wallows in mediocrity. Aggie will be joining you there soon.

Didn't you just have to go begging around to get to a new conference?

I think you are mistaken, we were begged and threatened with lawsuits to not leave the Big XII. We were courted and accepted by the greatest conference in all the land.
