To the mods: Do we have any updates on the possibility of this ever happening?

probably not!!!! this has been going on for a long time and not any of the mods are doing anything for this!!!

BTW +1 I would love to have a HB/LB or maybe WR/CB

Not completely true, though. We've had a couple of mods step up in here and back the idea -- putting it in epic, bringing it to Bort's attention and supplying some good thoughts for discussion.

I'm just curious about the roster issue. The last I heard, there might be a work-around to the roster limits. And then we've heard nothing again since then.

I understand this sentiment and I won't quibble with it.

But what happens when the game gets a bit repetitive? Should we go find something else, or maybe find something new within the same game like an Iron Man League?

Most good teams now have a complete build guide for every position, starting with optimal weight/height/attributes from the moment you roll the player. The creativity and ingenuity is being slowly sucked out of the game in favor of the cookie-cutter build with only slightly different variations in advanced equipment. Everyone recommends the same VAs, SAs, tactics settings. 10 seasons from now when these guys are reaching their plateau, I expect that nearly every top team will look just about exactly the same and the only difference will be in game-planning.

Before, this kind of strict cap-building was limited to just a handful of the top top teams, and I don't believe it was ever structured to exhaustively, from Day 1 to Day 400. Now I see this same guide EVERYWHERE, copied and pasted from one team forum to another.

Certainly, 5 or 6 seasons down the road, the same problem will probably start occurring with an Iron Man League, but I still believe there are so many different options and strategies for optimal builds that it will never reach the tedium I'm seeing and projecting in the current game.

I was really hoping that this idea would be worked on by now.

Bort has stated that his only sticking point on IronMan Leagues is the current 20 man roster floor.

We could make the roster minimum not apply, and the game would just sign CPUs up to 20 (and then cut them) when the sim ran. Problem is that if you don't have at least 20 players it will also auto reorder your DC.

Is there a way to make this league(s) immune to the auto-reorder?

Would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
I think it would be easier to make some kind of 'Auto Assigned' 5 CPU player type of thing. That way you meet the 20 player minimum but would not be placing the guys on the Depth Chart.

ps: passing is finally realistic with guys going 18/36 & 22/40 instead of the ludicrous 35/40 we were seeing for seasons while passing into triple coverages while being hurried.

I think if it was implemented...I see GLB having 2 separate sims. 1 normal one and 1 iron man one.
(i think that was obvious) But it is needed so that when you go create a player there would be two separate create a player pages....or maybe we could put in an athlete position and only the iron man league could use it.

It's not obvious because there is no need for any changes beyond a different roster limit for the iron man leagues. The sim is played the same and players are created the same way. The difference is the majority of them would have to be built to play on both sides of the ball, so the standard builds now would largely be thrown out the window. The current Out-Of-Position penalties and SAs would only help to diversify build strategies, at least for a few months before the best methods are found.

Or at least until a couple of people claim they've found the best method, and then most of the rest of the players follow them like sheep.

I'm pretty sure there will be several different build strategies here, and each of them will probably work best at different levels.
