The sticking point right now is roster size. Because of the way the game is coded, there is no way to make a roster fewer than 20 players. So setting both the minimum and maximum roster size at 20 players creates new problems regarding player pools and lack of flexibility for owners/GMs. Also, 20 players is probably too many to create a real Ironman league, which calls into question if it's even worth doing.

We're hoping Bort and Co. can come up with some kind of workaround for the coding to trick it to allow a smaller roster size without having to overhaul the game's coding, because having to change the coding would mean the idea would probably be dead.

toss 5 CPU lvl 1s onto each IronMan team automatically each season. have them auto release on day 40 so teams can then sort, add, and drop for the next season.

I will be buying all of my players for my team so whether 15, 20, or more or less, no worries, I am ready to take the 1st Ever Iron Man League Championship! lol

this is a good solution to part of the problem ... but it still leaves the problem of having the same number as minimum and maximum, which in this case would be 15.

Why is this a problem? Say there's 32 Iron Man teams total. That means we would need 480 human-operated players to fill out the rosters -- not 479, not 481, but 480 exactly. This wreaks havoc with the available player pool.

Yep, a MINIMUM of 5 CPU players should solve the issue of automatic reordering of the DC. It also means there doesn't need to be 15 human players per team, though it would be the optimal amount I would think. Going on the assumption that any team that's at least trying to compete will have at least 11 players,(and could sign an additional 4 CPU players on top of the mandatory 5 that are required) that means the player pool is 352 to 480 players.

Quoting myself for the most obvious solution to the 20-man minimum requirement to prevent depth chart reshuffling while at the same time allowing teams to deal with inactive players, trades, etc. AND creating a range in the player pool for each league.

That is also a good point, Linkz, and looking at it from that angle, it does seem to solve the obvious player pool problems.

The question now is, can it be done?

not sure about the 'havoc' created in the player pool. this league would actually be well suited to picking up those various builds that went with a balanced creation than the single-focus that we tend to see in the regular leagues.

This isn't a basketball game rather a football game in which you have to recruit players for strictly defense and strictly offense this will change the game into rugby

Then turn a blind eye to it, no one would twist your arm or force it down your little throat. You have abviously not heard of Ironman football, its older then the NFL!

Still the most-responded Epic suggestion with more than 800 posts ...

To the mods: Do we have any updates on the possibility of this ever happening?
